It seems too easy but apparently the old grammie cure-all, iodine is not only good for cuts & scrapes, but is an a natural anti-estrogen (good for lady health), can help the thyroid produce more T-3 & T4, & create a more alkaline system!

This report presents the results of the first gene array profiling of the response of a breast cancer cell line to iodine treatment. In addition to elucidating our understanding of the effects of iodine/iodide on breast cancer, this work suggests that iodine/iodide may be useful as an adjuvant therapy in the pharmacologic manipulation of the estrogen pathway in women with breast cancer.

Iodine is also critically important for maintaining estrogen balance within the body. Based on a controlled clinical trial with 1,365 women, 4mg daily of molecular iodine quickly "resolves" fibrocystic breast disease - it makes breast lumps and cysts disappear usually within only two months for most women. Iodine can similarly reduce uterine fibroids and one of the first conventional medical treatments for severe fibroids was to paint the uterus with iodine...

Geographic differences in the rates of breast, endometrial, and ovarian cancer appear to be inversely correlated with dietary iodine intake. Endocrinological considerations suggest that a low dietary iodine intake may produce a state of increased effective gonadotrophin stimulation, which in turn may produce a hyperoestrogenic state characterised by relatively high production of oestrone and oestradiol and a relatively low oestriol to oestrone plus oestradiol ratio. This altered endocrine state may increase the risk of breast, endometrial, and ovarian cancer. Increasing dietary iodine intake may reduce the risk of these cancers.

Here's the iodine I just started taking...

iodine bonds to tyrosine to make thyroid hormone (well its a little more complex than this but I who want to be bored by long jargon and phrases)

A super cheap Iodine supplement is Kelp I picked up a 200 tab count bottle for 4.19 @ gnc...

Yup, basically t3 = tyrosine + 3 iodines
t4 = tyrosine + 4 iodines

Having more iodine in your system means your thyroid will function better, meaning it will make better & more hormones, and hormones regulate things like growth & metabolism (as well as fight or flight, mood, puberty etc.)
