Awesome Bobybuilder Photo Thread!

I just had a great idea!

I thought I would start this thread to ask you all to post up some pictures that you have saved on your computer. You know the ones I mean. Your all time favourites!


This should give you the idea about what i'm asking for:

- The best photo you have ever seen and just had to keep.

- When you saw it in the magazine you just stopped and stared at it in disbelief.

- It stopped you dead in your tracks and said...DAMN!

- Bodybuilder so far ahead of his time/raised the bar etc.

- Freakiest Bodypart

- The photo you put on your wall to motivate you

- The photo in the gym you look at before your max set

- Your idea of perfection

I'm not looking for fitness models looking hot or swimsuit babes etc. I'm after bodybuilders (male or female).

I thought this would be great to see what people post up considering we have member of all ages and we should get everything from Larry Scott to Ronnie Coleman. I have been reading mags for 18 years and have seen many, many great shots which I can't find anymore no matter how much I search online.

I would also like a comment on the photo as well describing what it means to you.

Can't wait to see what you've got so I can add to my collection and hopefully will inspire others!

I’ll start with these. When I first saw these in Flex about the gains Dorian made in one year I was just stunned. I just couldn’t believe it. Dorian had already set the bar and then these shots came out. I just sat and stared at every inch of these in amazement. They had before and afters in the mag which added to the effect. I kept these on my bedroom wall to motivate me.

These photo’s were so amazing at the time the next month’s mag they asked top Pros to comment about the pics and they couldn’t believe it either!

He looks like a true human Belgian Blue Bull!

I think I am missing one shot from the series and I wish I still had the original. My Mrs threw them out one day as she thought they were just old magazine clippings and I didn’t want them anymore. Why did I cut them out then for eh? J

I have the video of Kevin when he was in that condition and it was his all time best I belive. I remember him moving the skin on his quad and it was like it was see through. Unbelievable.

Love him or hate him I think this is when Jay looked his absolute best. This is the shot that as soon as I saw it thought he deserved the O. I think he looked massive and in great condition. He got it right this day. The is another shot from that shoot too with Jay looking down over his left shoulder (which I can't find) which is my favourite Cutler shot.

Also, in the realm of female bodybuilding, when I saw Iris's prejudging pics from the 08 ms O I was blown away. I think it was one of the first times I was taken aback by a female bodybuilders development. I mean the size, conditioning, hamstring hang, CALVES!!. I think she could have competed with Dexter in a posedown.........

But these pictures that I post serve as motivation and reminder to me... this is what I want. And to get it, dues have to be paid. One of my many checks is in the mail.

For every rep that I grind out, or for every bite of food that I take, it stays on my mind that it is for a goal, and I cannot let it get too far off of my mind, for if I mindlessly lift and eat just for the sake of it, as far as I am concerned, I am just wasting my time. The joy I get from all of this is not the struggle, but knowing that somewhere down the line that the struggle will be worth it.

These are the things which hold true to me... being that these men attained these physiques, it is hope, and the abstract concept of hope is replaced by the concrete feel of weights. The fact that I can touch my hope and be blessed with it's painful affection makes me connected, and keeps me connected with my goal.

And will I ever truly look like any of these men one day? Not even if I was swimming in anabolics... BUT... even still, because it is what I want, I can forever be driven to do my damndest to get there. This ensures that I will always give my absolute best, and beyond. There are days when I feel like all I am doing is spinning my wheels... but Franco, Ed, Frank, and Serge... they help keep my attitude in check. And then the next day, I am back on my mission.

I agree 100%, these men have the classic look that I believe I can achieve. I know I will never come close to the massive competitors that make up the top level today.

Always amazed me with his strength. Look how small he looks here as well. It was ineresting to see the size difference with bith Fronco and Arnold when they weren't competing. You can actually see they had an "Off" cycle and let there body refresh. When I first read they ony used gear coming up to the contests I thought that was BS. Now maybe I am not so sure?

I’ll start with these. When I first saw these in Flex about the gains Dorian made in one year I was just stunned. I just couldn’t believe it. Dorian had already set the bar and then these shots came out. I just sat and stared at every inch of these in amazement. They had before and afters in the mag which added to the effect. I kept these on my bedroom wall to motivate me.

These photo’s were so amazing at the time the next month’s mag they asked top Pros to comment about the pics and they couldn’t believe it either!

He looks like a true human Belgian Blue Bull!

I think I am missing one shot from the series and I wish I still had the original. My Mrs threw them out one day as she thought they were just old magazine clippings and I didn’t want them anymore. Why did I cut them out then for eh? J
