--WWE ran the injury angle to open RAW last night with Batista as the storyline explanation for his upcoming hiatus from WWE television.

To bail them out of the situation, WWE chose to have Triple H return a little earlier than planned to keep things going heading into The Bash PPV.
Batista will be undergoing surgery on Tuesday, June 9th to repair the damage to the torn tendon in his biceps muscle.

Batista needs to get out of wrestling completely... He is in surgery every year for a tear or something... It's just sad.

The following has been posted over at WWE.com:

Less than 48 hours after capturing the WWE Championship for the first time in his career, Batista has suffered a completely torn left bicep requiring surgery that will keep him out of action for at least four months

WWE.com officially ruled last night's Raw match between Randy Orton and Batista a "No Contest." Therefore Batista is still the WWE Champion at this point, and will most likely relinquish the title next week on Raw's 3 hour special and a new champion will be crowned.

The guys who are leaner - always get hurt more often. HHH used to have that issue - he keeps it a little more bodyfat now, and has less injury. Much like how Jericho doesn't get injured as often.

The leaner guys are definitely more injury prone. Batista is a bout as lean as they get and he's suffered for it. But he's way too popular to be let go or consider leaving. It's guys like him and Triple H who draw the crowds that pay the undercard.

The following is a new blurb from Demon-Wrestling.com, the official website of WWE Superstar Batista:

"Dave's surgery went well Tuesday to repair his tendon. He's back in Tampa now recovering. Also, since a few people have asked. Batista did not suffer a torn biceps as WWE is reporting on their website. That was the initial fear, but it turned out to be a torn tendon, not the actual muscle. The WWE storyline, which is being reported on their website, is remaining the torn muscle in order to make Legacy's attack seem more fierce."
