i wore my HRM for a run today....which I havent done in a long time. 40 min run, on a trail, hilly. my HR got to 120. seriously????? i was thinking 140s easily. unless my HRM is shit (could be) isnt this really low?

What kind of moniter do you have? I have the one with the chest strap - it's a pain in the ass but I feel like it gives me a more accurate count then the wrist watch alone.

wrist. i had a polar w/ the strap but the battery died. maybe ill get it out and see ....not that i care really. i know im workin!

your monitor might be right. i have a hard time getting my heart rate over 120bpm

Me too. The more you cardio you do the easier it gets. The harder it is to get to target BPM...

I agree Tammy. As long as I am working up a sweat ( which is hard for me - I am always freezing!) I know I am burning cals.

the more in shape you are the lower your heart rate will be.

Sounds like you are in great shape Tammy. Congrats!!! I wouldn't get too caught up with HR unless you are in ketosis and even then it sounds like you are in the fat burning zone.;)

Your monitor was prob. right. You look like you are in good shape. I recently lost 20lbs and my resting heart rate is down from 90 to 73.

those monitors may not be all they are cracked up to be. the good ole fashioned way is the best in my opinion. for a good run, 120 is on the low side without a doubt. should be 140-160bpm if it was a run, not a walk
