View Full Version : Forearm pain?

It's hard to explain but if I stretch my arm out to the side to reach something (on either arm) I tend to get a small cramp/spasm on the forearm muscle that is most closest to the inner bicep.
Any clues to why it does this?

When I stretch my upper body in between sets that happens to my pecs.

I get a lot of forearm pain on the exact opposite side. It's taken me a while to figure out the cause but I've been able to narrow it down to close grip bench. I get no pain while doing them and no pain a day or even 2 days after. But about 3-7 days after I get tons of pain. I've tried every variation of CGBP and get it no matter what.

Could it possibly be tendonitis? Or just a strain perhaps from over exertion. Do you stretch and rub the muscle after training upperbody?

No on stretching and rubbing

Try stretching it and if you have a lacrosse ball, thrash it on that. It could just be tightness/binded up myofascia. Or a weird muscle pump if you're on anything.

Hey brothers-nope,still there..I haven't done any direct forearm work (reverse curls, wrist curls, etc) and it helped a little...not much but better then nothing at this point.

Curt-every workout is different :D

Can you describe the pain and locate it? Does it hurt when flexed, stretched, both?

It's all reversible with mobility work and strengthening the opposing muscles.

Stretched...say I extend my arm out (small T-Rex length btw) to reach for an object, then it cramps up.

Im tellin you man, if you can get a tennis ball/lacrosse ball, roll the shit out of the area. It sounds like a problem in the myofascia/muscle belly. Stretching will help too.

Thank you for the great posts/videos. I will def give those a try to see if it alleviates the aggravation.

REPS!

As said above, it takes time and consistency.

I hit one of those quick massage things at the mall today...he hit the forearms a little, late hope that helps too. I also have a sports massage scheduled next week and will bring it up as well.

Lmao. He is right man. That's why I mentioned getting a spikey green ball from Elitefts.com
you can do the forearm thing on your own, and you can do self massage techniques with it. It hurts like a bitch. ESP in the pecs.

Forearm pain has disappeared for the most part. Since I stopped BB forearm curls it has helped a ton.

Prob tight flexors and not enough extensor strength.
