In these images below I am 6'2" 185lbs and 8% bodyfat based on a 7 site Lange skinfold reading. I am looking at doing the NPC San Diego show on March 16th, my first in MPD.

How would you folks with a trained for this division say I am fairing at this point given the show date and time left?

as a judge joshua you still have to add muscle. you are lacking the fullness and roundness you need in your upper body.

Agree with Tammy....chest and delts need more fullness and to be rounder....you look very depleted...im guessing by your picks your doing alot of cardio and/or a low carb/keto diet....might want to switch gears on that....

2400 kcals a day per my coach, Marc Lobliner. I am doing cardio 40 minutes 2x on non lift days each week and 10 minutes post workout other days. LISS style.

Macros 180 carbs, 270 protein and 67 fat.

I have Saturdays as my refeed day, 300 grams carbs, 200g protein and no more then 40g fat.

I too agree on the upper body pass issue. I seem to notice it more the past 2 sets of pictures as I get leaner. My hips are wide, my shoulders are small and my arms are stringy. I am happy with my prep progressions so far overall but not pleased with my lack of size yet.

I honestly have to take a hard look at these pics (and the ones from yesterday) and consider if doing the show in 5 weeks is worth it if I am going to have my debut MPD contest result in a blow out. I'm far to competitive to go into anything without a fighting chance of doing very well.

Right now however its the OCD ulta competitive gene in me that does not want to have to throw in the towel and call it quits on a show I have banked on and trained for since December 1st till now. Seems too much like giving up.

These are from yesterday morning fasted, pre training, pre eat or drink.

182.4lbs, 7.3%.

Can you post pictures of you hitting MPD poses, not bbing poses? Stand tall, confident, and relax. You are slouched and very stiff and it takes away from the physique

Big....

Thats one aspect of MPD I am working to learn right now, poses for MPD vs BBing. Its my understanding that you do not really flex at all in MPD yes? Its more of a semi relaxed casual pose yes? Not that one should be loose and sloppy but not near the kind of rigid isometric holds of any kind that BBing requires yes?

On this next set of pictures this coming Saturday I will post some in the manner you request to better allow you experts to gauge how I would be presented on stage.

This one was from Sunday that my training buddy took post lifting, after 2 meals worth of refeed carbs (125 grams) in a more MPD like pose.

Do a youtube search on MPD posing. These videos helped me alot for my first show. The key is to look relaxed and confident. The only thing you should be flexing are abs. In your pics you look tense and slouched. Try standing up straight, shoulders wide, and chest someone out

MP posing is more of a casual stance. tight abs. you look like you are doing a hands on your hip most muscular here.

Taken yesterday at (what was) 4 weeks out from show day. See my personal workout log to see what shit hit the fan on Friday to botch my show plans in the blink of an eye!

I can see already that size is indeed going to be a catch in that my one major strength is my legs and its all hidden in MPD of course! Upper body just not as massive as it needs to be even for MPD.

I dropped cardio all week as my coach (Marc) felt I was too flat. I felt amazing the 24 hours during after my re-feed day on 400g carbs Tuesday into Wednesday this week!

I still teach 2-3 fitness classes per day 5 days a week which are mild to high intensity based. I am not doing the classes myself as a participant of course but as the leader which still puts some added demand on me of course. Spin and MMA fitnes is the two classes I still take full force cardio hits from weather I want it or not so dropping ALL cardio is not possible in my line of work.

So unless I find a show to do near San Diego by the end of March I wont be able to have the time or means to compete with work travels till May 1st as of now.

Your thoughts?

I share many of the same thoughts expressed above. Chest and shoulders are key areas to focus on, plus lats to build that "V-Taper" that is really looked for in MP. You will really benefit from posing practice with someone experienced in MP as stage presence can take a guy with the best physique on stage and cost him placing based on poor presentation.

I'd hold off and add some size. You could like my friend Dustin if you just gave yourself a year or so to build. Don't just do a show to do a show (at least I wouldn't). You're super lean WHICH IS GREAT!! But build a bit more.

Will be you competing as a Novice? I've never heard of Novice Physique, but there may be.

Dustin is below; he could even pass for a natty bodybuilder. Tell me what you think of his physique.
