I've been training since last century, by much too - but not half of the time in the gym. Last year I was lifting for strength.

This is what I came up with. (Could only post one vid)

Now, I want to gain weight instead. I did not put on anything at all last year, when mainly powerlifting.

Now, I've started using a new system, to figure out how I'm doing on the gain-trip. Or rather what can I expect. Because now, instead of like year when counting gym sessions a week, I count the sets that struck home!

the food that you're eating is more important to be focusing on to gain weight. or to loose it for that matter...

Yeah, I've been dieting every summer also, most of this is described here: http://chaan.se/sport/styrka/exercise_2006-2010.html

So I know how to loose 5-8 kilo in two months. But I don't know how to put on that much, and a dream-bulk was never in question. I've never gone over 15% fat. I eat 200-300g protein a day when lifting hard (2-3g per bw kilo)

Yes of course....you gain weight
1.Determine how much more you need to eat to gain a pound or a kilogram.2.Eat three meals per day, as well as two snacks.
3.Building Muscle to Gain Weight.

Stop analyzing how much weight you put on . Just eat and train and go by what you see in the mirror.

1.Determine how much more you need to eat to gain a pound or a kilogram.2.Eat three meals per day, as well as two snacks.
3.Building Muscle to Gain Weight.

It has never worked that way for me.

-First five years of lifting I only gained a kilo (from 67 to 68!) when lifting 3 days a week, and dropped it again if quitting, after those five years I quit and started jogging instead, plus other sports, minor bw exercises.

-Then I had a very long (to and fro..) break where I went from jogging to swimming instead. During the swimming years I gained massively and I weighed 96 kilo late 2004. The underlying problem turned out to be sleep deficit, something I was not able to detect during my highschool lifting years.

-I went back to the gym seriously again in 2006. Spring 2006 - spring 2010 I didn't gain any muscle mass although 2-3 lifting sessions a week (link http://chaan.se/sport/styrka/2006-2010_lifting.html) - instead I rebuilt the muscles. I know this is weird but it was a whole long plateau.. again. I gained major strength the first year, then minor or none. But I became a Youtube fitness model in 2007. I made simple flexing videos that got thousands of views, much more than expected. In detail I dieted from 96 to 88 kilo spring 2007, and maximum bulk was 98 kilo spring 2010.

-Just after stopping lifting 2010 (compartment syndrome http://chaan.se/sport/so_i_gained.html) I gained two kilo so my idle weight became 98.

-2011 was a break from all lifting due to compartment syndrome, right at the end of that period I gained two kilo more, and got 100 for the very first time. Then I started going to the gym a couple of times, and suddenly increased 3 kilo more over new year 2011-2012 - so I got 103.

-so I started 2012 with 103 kilo - and ended 2012 with 103 too! But 2012 was a good lifting year, so I got 103 kilo with abs at the end. In the meantime I got 107 at most - but also dieted during the summer and got 100 with a slim waist.

-2013 I was ill the whole year so I lost a whole lot of weight and the least was 90 kilo in November. I quickly regained my former weight though and surpassed it too. November 2013 to June 2014 I gained 25 kilo and was 115 kilo over midsummer. Now I've lost a little weight since I've been taking 6 kilometers walks all the time. The good lifting periods have been February-March and July. In between I had heart problems due to the new weight. What finally made bodybuilding work was a number of reasons, first I had activated some hidden genetics in 2012 (while mainly powerlifting), second I got strong enough to actually get big some time during this period, third some physiological change took place in February this year that made me bloated for the first time ever, and it had to do with nutrition, so I could workout longer because (this is a guess but I did go to medical school a while) interstitial nutrition storage went up very much, I could suddenly exercise bike 2 hours, then gym 2 hours, 4 days a week which was unthinkable before this year.

Conclusion: I have now gained about 10 kilo since thread start, from 103 kilo 9% bf to 113 kilo 12% bf.

I don't expect to get believed.

Yeah I won't stop analyzing. It's been drastic changes in my life some of the times I've gained weight. Like when I hit 98 kilo, people stopped to stare on the street, and not before that.

Conclusion: I have now gained about 10 kilo since thread start, from 103 kilo 9% bf to 113 kilo 12% bf.

10 kilos = 22 lbs.

(reaches for calculator)

103 kilos (226.6 lbs.) @ 9% bf = 9.27 kilos (20.394 lbs.) fat
113 kilos (258.6 lbs.) @ 12% bf = 13.56 kilos (29.832 lbs.) fat

29.832 - 20.384 = 9.438 lbs. fat

22 lbs. - 9.438 lbs. fat = 12.562 muscle/water

12.562 / 2.2 = 5.71 kilos muscle/water

What was the question?

113 kilos = 248.6 lbs

At most 115 kilo 12%
Looked like this

Front (no abs since belly been tired since a while)
172653

@ 12% bf = 13.8 kilos fat
13.8 kilos fat - 9.27 kilos fat = 4.5 kilo fat
12 kilo gains - 4.5 kilo fat = 7.5 kilo muscle/water

Since the latest pic+vid I've been out walking much + lifting heavy (and only just started bodybuilding training again this week) so I shrunk 2 kilo.

The conclusion is that the thread is 1½ years old and I could reach that goal.
