Hey everyone! My name is Veronica, and I am currently six weeks out from my first show this season, the Michigan Championships! Progress so far....my weight is up 10lbs, and I am almost as lean as I was 1 week out from the 2012 Central States back in August where I placed second. More to come....gotta hit the sheets to train hamstrings, triceps, forearms, and biceps tomorrow :)

Thank you! Right now in my post workout shakes, BCAA, Glutamine, 100% iso whey protein, and Oat muscle. Then in my evening shake, right before I do cardio, it's just BCAA, Glutamine, and 100% iso whey protein. Typical multivitamin, calcium, vitamin D, and some caffeine in the mornings.

I do my weight training in the mornings before work by myself, and then at night a few times a week my boyfriend and I head in together to do cardio. We are both competing in the same show this year, much better than last because I started to diet just as he finished his show, it wasn't fun that way :( much better now that we are dieting together :)

Just finished cardio for the day :) up to 1000 calories this week and my goal is to reach 1300 calories by Friday night. Low carb days this week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Had an excellent tricep workout today:

2 sets close grip smith bench for 8 reps
superset: 15 dips with 25 cable kickbacks (4 sets)

Tomorrow's training looks like traps, lower back, and shoulders. Another day of dedication and focus has come to an end.....now time for bed :)

Reached my goal of 1300 calories of cardio! Measurements to be taken on Saturday. Today's workout was great, Hip flexors, calves, and upper back. Blasted that upper back with this:

3 x 7 reps 70lb seated row
6 x 12 reps 40lbs close grip pull downs
2 x 20 reps 30lbs wide grip pull downs

Haha even made cupcakes tonight for work, and didn't even cheat on my diet! Stayed strong! Very strong!

Currently closing in on 5 weeks out and results are looking great! Tomorrow's training is forearms, hamstrings, shoulders, and chest.

Great shoulder workout today! Increasing the volume, bumping reps from 12 to 15 and from 20 to 25. Today was a low carb day :( feeling pretty tired :(

Gotta get ready and prepped for my Saturday Quad Workout! Usually do 3 super sets with 30 sec rest in between sets, but gotta change it up a bit! Keep ya posted tomorrow, and maybe a progress pic.....stay tuned :)

Comparison 5 weeks out! My legs are leaner than last year, overall body fat is lower, measurements are lower than when I stepped on stage last year :) Very excited about the progress :)145778

Getting ready to train upper back, lower back, chest, and shoulders this morning. Half way done with cardio for the week, completed 800 calories out of 1600. Kept the diet the same, just bumping the cardio. So excited, today is a regular carb day!!!

Taking the night off from cardio, letting my knees rest up to finish my weekly goal tomorrow night. Average weight is down 0.8lbs, and my legs are really coming in nicely! Training triceps, abs, hamstrings, and my favorite....traps tomorrow! Can't wait to see the measurements Saturday!

By the by! You are right in my neck of the woods! I'm a Grand Rapids gal! :D
AND I am pretty sure I was sitting in the audience of the Central States show you competed in!

I won't be attending the Michigan State this year. I will be 2 weeks out from my first show which is out of state. Will have my head down and focused on that final stretch :D But I wish you a great show. Speaking of which, will you be doing any other MI shows this year?

Which show are you going to do out of state? As far as I know, I will be starting with the Michigan, maybe Powerhouse Pro/Am, Jr USA's and Jr Nationals....depends on my feedback starting with the Michigan, however I feel pretty confident! Way ahead of last year.

I follow a monthly schedule that i create, been working really well for me. This particular work out I tailored the super sets myself.

Hey! Thanks you for the support! Wishing your friend luck too! Which weight division is he in? My boyfriend is also doing the Michigan, competing in the masters and the middle weights.

Yep, that's my Mike :) He is getting really tan too! We usually train at Powerhouse Madison Heights, Troy, or Royal Oak gym. Too funny!

Happy Monday! Numbers are in, 11.8% body fat! Officially, leaner than I was on stage last year! Still have less than 4 weeks to go to get those legs to come in. Bumped the cardio from 1600 calories to 1800 calories and dropped carbs more on MWF from 126 grams to 99 grams....today is gonna be a long day!

Get it girl! I'm 14 weeks out and excited to be on this journey as I prep to compete in my second Figure show. I'm hoping to place so that I can compete in Nationals which follows a few weeks later!...yikes :) .

Hit 1800 calories of cardio this week, average weight is down 1.5lbs...low carb day again :( training triceps, hips, hamstrings, and biceps today. Looking leaner and legs are getting better! Three weeks from tomorrow! I feel like I have so much more energy now than I did at this time last year. I was doing about 3000 calories of cardio three weeks out last year and now only targeting 1800 and I am leaner! Keeping my diet in check in the off season really paid off! Happy training everyone!

Survived another low carb day, and already have done half the amount of cardio targeted for the week! Weight is stable, looking and feeling lean ;) Time for triceps, biceps, and traps :)

Yep almost there :) Took mid-week measurements last night, down to 10.9% BF, gotta get the legs a lil leaner, just hope my upper body doesn't get too lean! Weight is stable, down 0.9lbs from last week. Scaled back the cardio a bit, gotta hit calves, chest, forearms, and abs this morning. Two more weeks!

Looks like I'm gonna stay where I am and not get any leaner, drop some water in my legs and I should be good! Eager to get on stage and rock it! Training rear delts, hamstrings, and chest tomorrow.....and of course about 300 calories of cardio :(

Only 9 more days! I can't believe it! Seems like I was 12 weeks out just yesterday! Cardio is done for the week at 1500 calories, weight is steady at 133lbs, and I just finished my dinner :) Training chest, traps, abs, and and calves tomorrow!

Only 6 more days til showtime!!! So excited! Weighed 131.6lbs this morning, a little low since I dropped a lot of water for a photo shoot yesterday. Last quad workout today before the show!

My weight is slowly going back down after a week of re-feeding lol, gotten some pretty good and painful pumps these past few days from all of the carbs! Continuing to increase the volume with more reps to stay sharp! Training traps, hamstrings, chest, and upper back today :)

Measurements are in! Only 1% higher than I was on stage and still have 3 weeks til Jr USA! Super excited! Weight is up 5lbs, but measurements are still low, such a great feeling! Hitting those quads today!

Only 2.5 weeks until Jr USA's! Training shoulder, hamstrings, upper back, and rear delts. Still zigzagging the carbs, seems to work well for me having a low carb day every other day, then spiking them on the weekends for a huge hormone cascade. Luckily, today is a regular carb day.....I really need them!

Training those quads today! Going with some high volume super sets, gotta come in sharp for nationals :)

4-50 reps sled
super set: 30 extentions with 30 weighted plie squats (5 sets)

Gotta burn them in!

Going for low carb day number 2 in a row. The scale is not my friend this week :( Although my body fat measurement is low, the scale reads that I am 5lbs higher than I was at the same body fat before the Michigan a few weeks ago. Just matters how I look anyways :) but still the weight is still baffling me!

My weight is up 2lbs from one week out from the Michigan 4 weeks ago, but my BF is the same! Wow! I look a little sharper too, eating those extra meals right after the Michigan really made a difference!

I am so happy with my placing! I got 3rd call outs out of 36 women! I definitely noticed the placing athletes had more muscle than I did, so definitely need to grow over the next year. For only competing less than 1 year and only entering 3 shows, I have walked away with a state championship and had my first experience at nationals! Thank you everyone for your support!
