Dudemanbros:

Official Critera as laid down by the HOSS himself:

Regs:
*315 to failure

*must be down as the LAST exercise on your regular leg day, the squats must start within 5 minutes of your LAST exersize, and MUST be recorded as well.

*No cutting down your normal leg day volume.

* No rest greater than 5 seconds IF NEEDED

* Squat will be defined as: as low as you can go prior to injury.

*Video Submission Deadline: 3/21/13

Prize: bragging rights AND I will throw in one product for free from iSatori. (iSatori.com)

Squats just ain't my strength. Here it is anyway....Stuck with my planned workout so it was drop set mania. Legs were jello by the time I got to 315.

Seated leg curls - 3 straight sets, one triple drop
Giant set - Leg press feet high and wide with Leg press high and close with lying leg curls
Squats - two triple drop sets
Leg press - feet low. Two triple drops sets.
Let extensions - two triple drops.
Giant set of adductors, lunges, and abductors

BB Squats: 315 x 12. Say it all together now...."PUSSY!". LOL.

I can try. It's tough with my training schedule as I train before the gym opens. It won't matter anyway once J and Austin get in here. LOL.

Get Deeper (as you go on you slowly get higher), other than that you do a great job on keeping your chest up, back tight, and preventing your knees from caving in which is a mistake a lot of people make as the weight racks up. Solid set.

Thanks...I was going as far as I could w/out the knees giving me problems and still feeling the muscle being targeted.

I had you, cobe and jcross as my favorites. . You're all strong ass dudes, but also train like freaks.. so doing this at the end of a leg day might even out the field... it's going to bw fun to watch and try.. but I know im already beat. . But ilmm still going to give it a shot..

In for this and i think that 315 is a great weight to use. I usually rep out 350 easy
but it depends on how much energy i have. I think you guys should enjoy this
challenge for sure. I love doing squats i love the feeling I get from them. Happy training!

The most I have ever hit going ATG Olympic style is 15 so I don't think I will be too much of a challenge for some of the guys here but we shall see. I am going to be trying this tomorrow.

I think I would like to see my squats deeper...I may end up re-doing it but idk if ill get it on video...as long as my knee doesn't flare up (it's sporadic) ...been catching some heat saying they aren't deep enough squats

Why aggravate your knee just because someone is saying you weren't deep enough ? It wasn't like you were doing half reps.. and unless this person is putting up a video with perfect form doing 315 after a killer leg day, then im not sure their opinion is valid. .

Well I counted 17.. then I picked myself up off the floor and reaized I passed out on the first rep.. I could barely walk after the leg press set and then by the end of the workout I was done. I walked out the 315, but did about half a rep and realized I was crazy for trying.

So nice work everyone that did it, because after leg day.. that just sucks

well i'm gonna totally disagree with the solution..cause that looked painfull(sorry)
1-move the bar down lower on your traps
2-move your hands out another hand length
3-keep your head up and eyes up at all times

by what you are doing your putting too much weight forward and onto the top of your legs/quads..i prefer a wider stance also..its keeps the weight more stable..

Thanks Scott! How much lower on the traps would you suggest?

On the hand position, will that help with stabilizing it more or?

Ur opinion is valuable to me.

like how Layne Norton Squats..

makes it 100x easier to squat deeper and less stress on your shoulders/traps. you are doing what Mark Rippletoe calls a "High Bar Squat"

also looks like you could use some foam roller/rumble roller work to work on your IT Bands. To help with getting deeper.

Completely shit the bed last night...only hit 12, failed miserably at 13. I haven't hit anything over 6 reps on a squat since last summer. I started getting gassed around rep 9, tried moving though as there was the 5 second rule...rep 11 I lost all upper back tightness, rep 12 I completely fell forward and dis a borderline good morning, tried for 13 but didn't even get out of the hole, had to bail. Ill try to get the video up today. I may go back to the gym and hit legs again today and try to redeem myself but I'll have to see how I'm feeling later as my body is beat up pretty bad.

Frozen Tundra of Canada? I got 5 inches of snow and 26 degree weather. The North East is cold too!

You did that on purpose so I would not feel like such a puss for only doing 12. LOL. For what it is worth I cannot come close to touching your low rep numbers. With practice at this you would hit 20 easy. My suggestion is not to redo it. Don't risk injury. Keep your eye on the prize.

1 hour pre:ingest 3 scoops of pre workout and a large expresso rectally (for absorption sake...no homo)
30 mins prior: crush up and snort 1 Anadrol and 3 tabs ephedrine
immediatley before set: 1 tab of acid laced with 8:1:1 BCAAs taken sublingually
Immediatley after set: 1 handful superhero gummies

This was fun! We should do one of these with a different lift every so often. Although i think using Body weight (or percentage of BW) would open things up for more folks.

its a little hard to tell from that angle, but It looks better in terms of depth.

next time try filming from a side angle...would be able to analyze better in terms of depth, knee/toe angle, back/bar position etc.
