Yea he would have been nice to hear from. I watch his training video at least a few times a year. His german partner in that video was funny

Meh, I've read his book; pretty much covers all you need to know about his training and diet.

Will be more interesting if he writes stories from back in the day.

Sucks that he won't be able to go on a GOOD radio show though.

Thats sweet that they got Dorian. All he will be able to talk about is himself. What works for him doesn't work for others. He is not a good teacher, nor does he appear that he cares to be! All MD wants is start power, I'd rather follow the information instead of the face.

I think Dorians’ signing to MD probably has a lot to do with the promotion of Dorian supplement line in the US.

Here in the UK all the British versions of FLEX, M&F etc plus UK mags like BEEF always features adds / promos for Dorian supp’s; I have, however never seen a single add or even reference to his products in US mags, e.g. MD.

Taking what John Romano was saying regarding Blechman’s desire to return to the supplement industry perhaps this arrangement is something of a ‘marriage of convenience’; Dorian needs US promotion; Steve’s got a vehicle for this (MD; radio show; vid clips etc). Thus this arrangement in all likelihood has nothing to do with where Dorian sympathies lay and all to do with money; with Steve taking some cut someplace.

What to you reckon John does this sound feasible??

I think you have hit the nail on the head here. One of my mates in Ireland was offered a supplement contract from Dorian. Dorian is going all out to push his brand and MD would be the best vehicle to get his brands into the US market.

Just a name tag?

or is he getting articles out, a Q&A of his own, regular radio participation?

The truth - he singed with MD because of the promotion of his supplement company to US. That's it , there is no other reason. In Europe his company is doing good , but here in US i never noticed any commercials in the mags of the Dorian's company. He wants the big US market and MD is the key for his success as a businessman in America .This is great for Dorian , 1st he is getting the money of his contract for MD and then the big $$$$$$$ as result from the commercials in the mag.

Honestly who gives a shit about Dorian joining? I've met Dorian on a couple of occasions and a more boring, monotonic person you will never meet. Ron Harris is writing his column so what's the draw? They get to publish more of the same pictures we've all seen 1,000 times? If he actually does post online, be sure not to read within an hour of operating heavy machinery.

Dorian was amazing for the size and condition he carried simultaneously, but he was far from a complete or aesthetic bodybuilder. Nobody should win the top title in the sport with torn muscles.

And? I agree the 90s were the best years of bodybuilding regarding the talent pool...but this is 2009 and Dorian is not a factor in a bodybuilding stage. Dorian was also NOT the best bodybuilder in the 90s. The guy received more than a couple of gifts on the Olympia stage, particularly in 1994 (should have lost to Shawn) and 1997 (Nasser). Very overrated bber, IMO. Much of the legend around Dorian is based on black and white photos taken before the 1993 Olympia and the Blood and Guts video.

Dorian's been trying to promote his supplement line here in the states for 10 years and they still can't take hold. I first met him at a local shop in NYC when he first started the line. No one is going to pay $40 for 2lbs of a whey/casein blend...at least I hope not.

Oh, and for all the Lou Ferrigno haters, he was charging $10 to take a picture with him.

exactly.Only thing we can ,is to be jealous that he is there and not here.
Pay the tribute to legendary bbuilder. Not such a pussy like flex "oilmen" wheeler or shawn "two face strenght and honor" ray.

I think everyone respects Dorian. His physique can be controversial because he started the era of monsters, but it is like it should be in this sport-some people like it,some not.

Well as we all know nothing's permanent. Dorian is probably just stopping by to promote his line of supps for the US. He made mention of this in a past interview with Levrone on MD. After all he is Dorian Yates not Dorina MD Yates, he's his own person and can do what he wants. For right now America is still the land of freedom...kind of.

Dorian, Arnold, Haney or anyone else wont make Md what it was. To be honest with you, I only baught Md to read Daves section, and the chemical side. The magazine has way too many adverts and is way over priced. It looks like a big Mag but when you open it its 80% adverts!

I like Dorian as Im also a fan of HITT, I found that my best gains are from shorter and more intense workouts and it also go's well with Daves off season diet and cutting diet.

I'm a huge yates fan. He had just won his 2nd Mr O when I started training ('93), and although my housemates had muscle rags laying around, no one (I mean NO ONE) looked like Yates. He was totally the inspiration for really busting my ass in the gym. Those last few reps where you know most folks would quit, you just know that Dorian would get a few more.... and you dig a little deeper. If indeed he did write his own column that ran in Flex (I'd like to think he did), occassionally it did have some good advice, although you can only reiterate so many times to either "half the weight and focus on the squeeze", or "you can hit a stick of dynamite all day and nothing, but hit it once really hard, and Bang". I think it will take a little (a LOT) more than 2 pages by Yates each month to get me to buy MD again. I'll read Dorian's column at the corner store each month.
