Darnelle, try cream of rice with some butter in it. See what happens.

I like those foods for a carb load, if you are going the clean route, very similar to what I do myself.

Anything thats low fat really. Chris Aceto suggests things like low or nonfat muffins, cookies, rice etc. I carb'd up on cornflakes, raisans, pineapple and muesli today..

the carb load leading to the show is absolutely fine. Do we need the high fat meal the morning of show?

whats the logic behind that? I would have thought carbs are more important on show day?

I'd say try different foods and see what works best from there. After 6 trial and errors I found that for my body white rice, sweet potato, and oatmeal work well. The morning of a show, lots of caramel kettle corn mini rice crisps.Mmmmmmm

Depends. Even after a load, a fatty meal helps make me look full and vascular.

i have a show in 7 days and i just bought my food today
yams and sweet potatoes, bananas, brown rice cakes, no salted PB, and for before the stage the PB J Company Maple Syrup Peanut Butter : ). But I like the idea of the dry oats, HUGE BRO SCIENCE but if ate the oats dry would it take some of the water from inside you to absorbs and digest it properly? Who knows

I was just watching the 'Muscle Meals with Evan Centopani' series and Dave says cream of rice or white rice are good because they're easy to measure. Evan said he likes sweet potatoes because he feels they help keep him moving (fiber).

Any clean source is fine. My recommendation: use both high gi AND low gi carbs, best of both worlds

i use a combination of dry carbs (granola, toasted oatmeal, sweet potato, jam/jelly) and wet carbs (rice, cooked oatmeal, creme of rice) depending on what the situation calls for.

sometimes you need some added water in the food to help shuttle the carbs, and even sometime salt. it all really depends on where the person is at - full/flat, dry/holding a lil film.:dunno:
