CINCINNATI (AP) -- The Cincinnati Reds (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/teams/reds) have activated first baseman Joey Votto (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/players/7946) from the disabled list in time for Tuesday night's game in his hometown of Toronto.
Votto had been sidelined since May 30 with stress-related issues, after missing games earlier with an inner-ear problem.
A pivotal player for the Reds, Votto is batting .357 with eight home runs and 33 RBIs this season. Since he went on the disabled list, the Reds are 8-13.
Votto played a total three games for farm clubs in Sarasota and Dayton before rejoining the Reds.
The Reds placed utility player Wilkin Castillo on the disabled list with a right-shoulder injury suffered in a headfirst slide Saturday.
