why even by metamusil when you can go by plain straight physillum husks with no chemicals or anything at all at a health food store for 1/4 of that price.

i do remeber seeing plan Pyhsillu huck at walmart too.. i think the plain stuff is flavorless whick mite be better in the offseason to mix in my shakes...

But i think that i would only use fiber during a cut or just cycle it

I've used both Fiberlyze and my own concoction of psyllium husk/hemp protein powder. Fiberlyze definitely tastes better and it has some wheat bran (insoluble fiber) in there, too. I suppose you could always purchase some wheat bran and add that to your psyllium cocktail, though.

One reason would be to support Dave Palumbo and Species Nutrition versus a faceless conglomerate that is sucking the very life out of yada yada yada.

I'm not against Walmart, actually but do believe it's important to put my money where my mouth is wrt buying Species versus any cheaper alternative.

At least at times.

I have purchased orange Metamucil, plain Metamucil, and Care One's fiber, but have to give the nod to Species's cherry Fiberlyze for taste and texture.

It's a great product and definitely... works!

And I get the feel good sensation of knowing I've contributed to the finances that eventually trickle back to me, you, and all our Rx'ing friends and foes here by way of this site.

Go cheap on your fiber. That's a fiscally sound strategy. But contribute to Species and Rx Muscle by making a purchase of some other product that doesn't have a more generic alternative.

One way would be to play the trivia game.

Another way is to purchase product at one of the shows where Species has a booth.

Or...

Fiberlyze has No Sugar/No Fat /No Aspartame. I don't know about the stuff you found at WalMart. I too am cutting back financially, as my husband has taken a HUGE paycut at his job, but there are some things I just won't cut. You get what you pay for 99% of the time. My supplements are top priority, next to my kids' well being, off course! With Dave's background, knowledge and dedication to the sport, I just don't think it's worth the $ to cut back.

I think you meant "isn't" and "can't" but my point was to encourage you to buy what you can afford.

Looks like you're doing just that.

At the same time, though, it seems like you want to complain about things no one has control over but you - your bank balance and your ability (or choice) to buy what you'd like.

You'd use Species products if they were inexpensive, right?

Or do I have that wrong?

Hey, I'm still curious why you commented on boatneck t-shirts in that one thread.

I mean, is that a spaghetti strap tank top in your avatar?

Yeah, at 6'1" and a buck ninety, I'm no superheavyweight, but still believe you should send all your string tanks to IFBB Pro Dennis James. :p

I "get touchy" about people talking around THE TRUUUUTH! :D lol

I say he'd use Species products if they were inexpensive. What, you don't agree? Why else would he make the comparison?

There's no shame in not being able to afford something or choosing not to pay for one product over another.

I'd drive a Mercedes if they were inexpensive.

But they're not, so I drive my Metamucil equivalent vehicle, a 1996 Civic.

Yet I seem to be able to do that without starting a thread asking why Mercedes sells their E-Class starting at $48K instead of the five thousand I spent on my car.

I don't complain or, what, brag  about Mercedes not "raping my bank account."

Wtf?

Anyway, not on the payroll. And I doubt my lack of diplomacy in relation to the company and this particular crybaby is winning me any points. Still, you asked.

The goal of Fiber is to aid in Digestion and help with the bacteria in there.

Stop being a wuss about "Taste" Most are Tasteless.

Just drink it with water and it will do its job.

+ I dont see why anyone would take that with Sugar crap and stuff added in.

Remember To Rotate your Fiber source.

Inulin,Psyllium ... Vegetables, Fruits... Etc... Soluble and Insoluble you need both of them.

My coach told me psyllium husk is psyllium husk. Don't bother buying expensive...it is all pretty much the same. She says you can eat insoluble and soluble fibre from proper veggie intake and psyllium husk.

only flaw in your arguement is that mercedes is far superior to a civic; its not that they just charge more for nothing. Metamucil and fiberlyze are the same thing with a crazy mark up.

I respect dave and love what he does for the sport, but his products are too expensive for what you get. I'm not bitching, just stating a fact. I would buy his products if they were priced appropriately because I like dave and what he does., but they arent.

Metamucil has economy of scale on its side, though, right?

You think Dave's product costs pennies to make?

I wonder.

But I also doubt it.

Regardless, they're not the same thing for taste or texture at all.

Bill, you're not answering my question. Wait, didn't I have twelve questions?

Anyway, I do use "plain reg fiber" and often. I just purchased a 245-gram container of Benefiber. That's 62 servings for about six bucks, iirc.

I know one of my questions was, something like, why are you bringing the subject up at all? Buy Fiberlyze or don't buy it, but it seems like you're complaining about price and that's just poor form.

Dave has a great product in Fiberlyze. I purchased the fruit punch in the past.

https://www.speciesnutrition.com/order/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=14

It definitely works, it also tastes great, and I suspect that Palumbo would lower the price if he could.

I mentioned economy of scale earlier:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_scale

Figure it out.

And give back to the site by purchasing a Species product while you're at it.

And if I haven't already made it abundantly clear, anyone is encouraged to spend their money how they see fit and, of course, within their own personal financial ability.

Species Nutrition has a great product and it's worth every penny, from my perspective.

I've purchased Species supps for that reason and also because - by my way of thinking - their purchase helps support Rx Muscle which, in turn, supplies us all with entertainment and information.

I hope there's no argument on that count at least.

How do you waste your money?

I know I eat out all too often.

Due to my insane amount of Internet time (see absurdly retarded post count), I canceled my cable bill and donated my TV to a co-worker.

One way you can get some FREE Isolyze, Big Bill, is to join in on the trivia fun:
