View Full Version : Grilled Glazed Balsamic Steak & Asparagus

Ingredients: Serves 6

1/4 cup oyster sauce
2 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar
1 tsp. grainy mustard
1/2 tsp. hot red-pepper flakes
1 lb. medium asparagus, trimmed
1 1/2 lbs. flank steak
Salt & pepper to taste
Nonstick cooking spray

Prepare a medium-hot charcoal grill. Combine first four ingredients. Thread about half the asparagus crosswise onto two parallel skewers, leaving space between. Repeat with remaining asparagus. Brush asparagus with glaze, then brush remaining glaze onto steak & sprinkle with salt & pepper. Coat grill with cooking spray, then grill steak & asparagus (uncovered for charcoal; covered for gas), turning steak once & asparagus occasionally, until asparagus is tender & well browned in spots (6-8 minutes) & steak is medium rare (10 minutes). Let steak stand 15 minutes, then slice thinly across the grain.
