Among Danny Ainge's first calls was to Bill Strickland, agent for center-forward Rasheed Wallace (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/4123). The Celtics (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/4542)' interest in Wallace is not for the long term, though. Wallace, 34, might be the most intriguing of free agent candidates, his relationship with Celtics (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/4542) forward Kevin Garnett (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/4124) a possible advantage. Charlotte, Cleveland, Orlando, and San Antonio have also shown interest in Wallace. According to Andy Miller, agent for Tyronne Lue - a reserve guard for Orlando who is close to Garnett - and forward Antonio McDyess (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/4121), Ainge has expressed interest in both players.

Suns General Manager Steve Kerr spent a few hours at Grant Hill (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/4105)'s Orlando house Wednesday to begin re-recruiting him, and team personnel put in calls to free-agent big men Antonio McDyess (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/4121), Channing Frye (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/4469), Sean May (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/4473), Joe Smith (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/4120) and Chris Wilcox (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/4327).

Two players who didn't seem like they were going to be available to the Cavaliers (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/4545) ended up in the team's crosshairs at the end of day one of the NBA free-agency period. According to several league sources, the Cavs (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/4545) are attempting to land Houston Rockets (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/4550) free-agent forward Ron Artest (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/4231), and the pitch included a meeting with LeBron James (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/4359) on Tuesday night in Los Angeles as both were in Southern California for various events. In addition, a league source indicated the team is trying to attract Los Angeles Lakers (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/4553) swingman Trevor Ariza (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/4446), who appears to be disgruntled with the Lakers (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/4553)' early attempts to re-sign him.

What the celtic need to do is get rid of kendrick perkins, or at least use him off the bench. They need another dependable big man. Rondo has improve his game but if I was the general manager of the celtics, I'll still want to trade him because he can't shoot.

Kendrick Perkins isnt the best scorer but he is tough down low and will bang with any of the big men in the NBA.

The Cavs started it by getting Shaq to go up against Dwight Howard now the celtics are looking for a big man to do the same.

Wallace is probably there best option for a big man, but I don't want him to throw threes up like he's a shooting guard
