I was just wondering if there were any tall natty competitors in the ranks. I am 6'5" and it is really hard for me as I try to get ready for my first show to know what kind of size I should carry. I have had 220 thrown out as a number but that seems like I will not carry that much mass. Just wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat.

I'm 6'2" and i'm coming down from 222 to 190 just to get a lean base. I plan on doing my first show next June 2010. I can't see myself coming in at anything less than 195. So this off season needs to be real productive. At 6'5 i think you def need to be somewhere around 210-220.

I myself am 6' and competed at 195, I don't think it was enough hence the second place.

i would recommend just coming in as conditioned as possible, especially for the natural stage...i wouldn't worry about how much you weigh...the biggest natural bodybuilder i've ever seen in my life, (who was in shape) was about 6'1ish 215 pounds...i've seen guys step on stage at 220-230, but they were about 30 pounds from being shredded...best of luck

Why worry? Diet your ass off and do your home work. You will be fine

If you start your diet with a number in your head you will not get as lean as you need to be. I did this last year but luckily I had a great coach in my corner to help me adjust mentally. Just get as lean as possible...those last few lbs of fat actually make you look bigger on stage...if you try to hold on to weight because you don't want to weight under 220 you will not be stage lean...

I hope this helps...this is my second prep and I actually weight less this year with more muscle...and I could care less was the scale says...

6'3"

Good post, I agree completely! I've seen lots of guys sabotage their prep by having a number stuck in their heads.

I'm 6'2" and woke up the morning of my first show at 187lbs. I was ripped and placed 2nd in an open comp light-heavy class with twelve guys, most of whom were well under 6 feet.
