View Full Version : Stuff I eat when dieting
Common theme in my diet, nothing proceeded aside from a condiment or something. High protein, most chicken, eggs, steak, some fish and lots of carbs, mostly oats, rice, sweet potato, apples .... not trying to reinvent the wheel, just eating good wholesome foods. It's what works for me. I personally think people make dieting too complicated.

Yeah man, I don't think I ever eat anything I don't like when on diet or off diet for that matter, whole food is good! however I have drank many a protein shakes or ate protein bars that taste like crap, never had steak or chicken fresh off my grill that wasn't awesome tho.

I hear you on the fish, I don't eat much but now and then I throw it in for a few days when I feel I need to tighten up and at the end of prep sometimes (if behind).
Sitting about 203, hoping to get down to 183-185 on stage, peeled, we shall see. Started dieting at 20weeks out. Figured I'd post this so you can see how all this food is going to work to get me in shape, long ways to go but it is coming along. 13 weeks out today. 165899165900165901

Believe it or not, I've been eating this type of food too.

What up bro! J and I were in. Vegas for a 5 night party feast in Jan., it was an amazing trip (from what I remember) .... I had two double doubles for breakfast every day! Breakfast started at noon lol, late nights.

I don't know why, but I have something against freezing food and I ussually will only pre cook two or three days worth of food.
So not only do I cook a lot, but I do a lot of shopping too.

The chicken I cook and way I cook it and season it, it is good in refrig for 5 or so days. I never freeze. But yeah, house of bbers, we eat alot of chicken.
I food prep twice a week.

Juicing always helps me get all my veggies in even stuff i would never eat raw. Fruit is great i agree. Try Quinoa pasta its amazing.

I'll have to check it out. In general, I do not eat any processed foods so pasta is rarely on the diet. When I do cheat, I just go all out and don't even attempt to make it healthy. I lived in Italy for awhile, I love real pasta!

That would be a rice turd, jasmine rice (8oz sticky rice) formed into a banana shape and eaten out of a bag, as you eat more, you just continue to reform it in the bag, allows me to eat my rice while driving.

yeah, I don't eat them at all while on diet, I hate being bloated and anything messing with my digestion which many veggies seem to do so I take a greens mix twice a day instead. When diet is over, I go back to eating more balanced.

hey, i just have my reg diet food till my semi- cheat meal Friday night and my full blown cheat meal on Saturday night. :) yet i see that Gerb, always has to have katsup on his eggs, Y???, lol:)
semi AND full blown, that is some higher level stuff right there! Ketsup always! it doesn't matter, what I have learned over the last 5 yrs. In the end, it is calories in calories out. The quality of the calories absolutely matter and the ratios but a little Ketsup, it just doesn't really matter.

It sounds nasty, it isn't, I mix ground beef, egg whites, chicken, any protein in with oats, add splenda, a scoop applecider humapro, the protein is just a texture and the oats taste sweet. Never has a person tried my chicken and oats recipe as I described above and not said at a minimum, eh, not too bad.

I carb cycle, low days are abotu 50-75 grams at meal 1, high days are 50 a meal per meal 8 meals 400grams. Carbs get a bad wrap, if they are clean, they are anabolic and for me, promote a faster metabolism

I don't plan on getting much bigger ever (ie my back is what it is). I like my size, I out condition pretty much everyone when I compete against and take pride in beating the bigger guys. Nothing better than being the skinny one who wins. I love the sport but I am more concerned with being Fit to Fuck vs a monster. If I look good on the beach, all good. But yes, my back, my legs, I got so many weaknesses, that just makes it that much better when I win cause it is because I out work people, not because of my genetics or size etc.. My physique has no business on a BBing stage yet in 5 shows 2 firsts and 3 seconds. It is funny too me. I just compete because I love the lifestyle and I love getting peeled. ... so what's ur next show this year?
That was it for this year. Just wanted to get back on stage after my 18-months off and recovery from back surgery. Next show will be in 2015. I don't want to get too much bigger but I am close to a HW finally so if I can add about 7-8lbs muscle and compete as a small HW in 2015 that would be cool. I'll be 40 then so I can do masters too. I was 194 this show so on stage about 202 is more our less my target. For me, one show a year is plenty. I have done 6 shows in 5 years so that is about my average.
