Hey guys, I just wanted to introduce myself, as I would like to log my journy to my next bodybuilding show for anyone interested. I'm trying to get my wife to post here also. Until then it will be just me. Here is some background.

I've been lifting weights since I was 15 years old. I immediately got into powerlifting and fell in love with it. I entered my first contest at 16 years old (1989) at 110lbs body weight. I bench pressed 175lbs and won my division. Since then, I have won countless competitions. My proudest accomplishments being taking the All Time raw Total (raw meaning, without the use of any powerlifting supportive gear such as knee wraps, squat suits, and bench shirts). I was able to total 1840lbs at 198bodyweight. Here is the video.

In 2011-2012 I suffered a few lumbar disc herniations (L5/S1). I was able to compete one more time with the injury at the LA Fit Expo - The American Cup January/2012. After this meet I just wasn't able to deadlift any longer or squat any kind of "real" weight without being crippled for weeks.

January 2013, I decided to give bodybuilding a try. I was a little leary as the last show I did was 13 years prior. My wife and I also own a gym in Lawrenceville, PA http://www.cellisfitness.com and have a crazy schedule since we are open 80 hours a week, and also personal train clients. Her and I both decided to both do a local NPC show called the Mid Atlantic Championships in May. I was able to win the overall title and she took 3rd place in womens physique.

We both decided to do another show later that year. I choose the North American's and she did the NPC Elite physique. I took 2nd in the 35 masters division and 6th in the men's open. http://www.cellisfitness.com/?p=431
Dana won the overall title in elite physique.http://www.cellisfitness.com/?p=405

Here is a recent video I did with all time world recorder holder Donnie Thompson a few months ago.

We both are currently training and 7 weeks out from NPC Masters Nationals here in Pittsburgh. We are both excited to show the work we have done since those last shows!

We will keep everyone updated with some progress pics and maybe some videos.

Here are our 7 weeks out pictures. Excuse my face.

Hey Ryan, good luck with the switch.

I saw you compete at the American Cup in LA. Pretty impressive considering you were injured.

Thanks man! I wasn't far off from my best total of 2011. I think I was about 20lbs under that.

I train at "cellisfitness", its the best gym in pittsburgh and i have trained at all of them. Ryan helped me with powerlifting and continues to help with my weight loss goals. He is a good man, and dana is awesome as well. I have never met more disciplined people in either sport. Plus they are very down to earth and giving. I am looking forward to more progress pics!
