Before my shoulders went to jello from power wide grips, I hit 450 on a smith rack, turns out that when you have disloacated both shoulders from years of football and wrestling, they dont like going super heavy any more!

I now rarely ever go past 350 in training, I am not a powerlifter, I am a bodybuilder, what you guys do is too hard!

I popped both shoulders out doing 265 on an incline in high school and could never bench the same again...I have better form and use DB's alot now

420 at a weight of ~205 in 2005.

Gym bench, full range though.

Haven't benched much in the past couple years though.

As far as your goals... you've come to the right place bro! Stick around, check stuff out, ask questions, make comments, whatever! and yeah... a 500 bench would kick ass!

heavy triples for bench, lots of tricep work and lots of lat work.

That's where I'm at now.

3x3 for bench

heavy dips
lots of pullups/bent rows.

I'm going to keep plugging away.

I did 315 but nothing over that. I had a bad time with the bench 8 months back and never went back to it since. I actually just started doing incline as my second chest exercise after incline hammer strength presses and am only repping out 205 on that for reps so it will be fun to see that go up.

My best bench was 365lb for a single. But that was a long time ago. I do not do flat anymore. I do still do lots of incline bar work though with 275lb for reps.

225 is tough for me... on a mad day maybe 260 or so... you guys are crazy, swinging around 400+for 90% of the population mid 2s is pretty strong. And I wouldn't say "swinging" around 400! Haha!!

385 was my best in HS FB at 220 lbs just started back and did 250 1 rep last weekI am assuming HS meaning High School? If so thats pretty impressive! and if that is the case that current 250 is probably gonna climb pretty quickly.

375. I have touched this many times, entered a bench comp and couldn't budge 360 (my first lift). I felt like such a douche. The weekend later, I got 375 again:mad:

Never maxed out on bench because my joints couldn't take it, but handled 275x8 on flat and 255x10 on incline at a bw of 215 back in 2007.

My best flat bench was 365lb also, that was about a year ago. I don't do any flat work anymore though. my best incline so far has been 335lb for 2 reps.

360 @ 195 for me.

I got a little stronger than that but I never maxed out after that time. I want 400 soooooo bad, but every year I get more banged and beat up, lol. Elbows, shoulders, etc...

Most in a meet raw is 465. Elbows are kinda shot, used to rep that.

Hit 617 in a shirt back in 05. I have since become a raw only lifter.

My best has been a 565lbs touch and go raw. The one exercise that I think has helped me most with my bench is incline and flatbench one arm dumbbell press. I got up to 150lbs for 3 sets of 10. It really hits your core and stability muscles.

225 for a couple reps. I suck at benching, LOL. I'm stronger on the decline (I think alot of folks are) but I prefer to gauge my strength on the flat since that seems to be the standard.

505 raw,535 single ply done in the 90's competing in WNPF and APA 275/308 classes. Tore a medial head tricep muscle and now back to 450 raw but calcium deposits, arthritis and muscle imbalance on my left side have set in. Now considering some masters BB. Dieting with 4 kids is a little tough...ice cream, cookies, count chocula.....

Big Country, GREAT bench for 6'7". I know how tough it is, I'm 6'6". For increasing raw strength, I found that heavy closegrips worked. Heavy triples and 5's done immediately after your bench routine. Keep up the good work....500+ will come, Brother.
