I had a knee injury a while back that led to hip issues. I finally got my lower half strong enough to start doing squats and HOLY SH!T am I sore and weak the next day. I went ass to calves and couldnt squat more than 90lbs on the smith machine. My legs are killing me. I dont care what you do to train your legs. NOTHING hits them like squats... You never feel like a man when you sit down in the "library" do your thing an then cant stand up on your own and have to use the counter or door knob to pull yourself up. Now that I have made a totally useless and random thread. I would just like to add for those of you who actually train legs. If you dont squat you should. :hang:

I couldn't agree more, but I think you should try to get away from the smith machine squats, it'll stop you from follow a natural ROM

I plan to start doing them with free weights soon. I want another week or two on the smith.

If my knee freezes on a smith I can lock it. If it freezes on freeweights I drop it.

I think the smith machines are a false sense of safety. I would use a cage and put the pins high so you can can drop the bar without hurting yourself
