It's recommended that a pregnant woman doesn't over heat during exercise. Also she should avoid laying flat on her back in the last trimester. Otherwise she should be able to continue exercising throughout her pregnancy, providing she is not at risk of miscarriage. But if all is well, then some weight training will be good as well as some brisk walking to keep her fitness up and keep her circulation good.
Nutrition wise, I say "everything in moderation". Eat small meals and often, it helps with morning sickness. When I was pregnant, if I got very hungry then I would feel sick. Caffeine is not really recommended and to be honest, you lose your desire for coffee or chocolate. Avoid alcohol, although a glass every now and again won't really hurt. But definitely no spirits...yuck!
Heaps of fresh veges especially brocolli and pumpkin and fruit is important. Oysters are full of zinc and that is especially important for healthy scretch mark free skin. I ate alot of oysters...yum!
Fresh fish is important too. Red meat if she eats it, for high iron is also great.

You're welcome Irishmuscle. That sucks about having cold weather but at least she won't have to worry about heat rashes like we do in Australia. :)
I wish her a very healthy pregnancy and hope she enjoys it. Being pregnant is truely a lovely experience and a special time in a womans life!
