I squatted 180kg (1 rep) on Wednesday @ 80kg bw. The last time I did this was 2 years ago @ 95kg bw.
Probably not a lot compared to most of the guys (and girls) on here, but a milestone for me as I am 6 weeks out from comp and natural.

Very strong lift for 176lb bodyweight! And 6 weeks out! But why are you maxing on squat 6 weeks from show time???? LOL!!!

Pictures of how you look would be good. Share with us!

I guess coz I enjoy it so much (if you know what I mean), it is sort of a 5th warm up set before my real working sets 165 x 5, 140 x 16 and 120 x 20 (at the moment). I aim to get 10, 20 and 30 reps on these sets, when I do I add 5kg and start again, aiming for 10, 20, 30 reps.

Hairy and white at about 8-9%, hoping to drop 2-3kg of bf in the next 6 weeks. I'm looking at doing 4 shows in April/May. The last pic is from the INBA Australian Titles last year - aiming to be bigger and more ripped this year.

You look great in your competition photo! I am curious as to why the high rep sets????

Low reps were not working too well for me. I've been doing the high rep stuff now for about a year and have made some good gains.

Excellent. Do what works for you. When I started doing higher intensity sets with less weight and more reps I added some new growth after lifting heavy for years. "Leave your ego at the door".

Agree NYC Big Mike. After years of injuries from being stupid, showing off and trying to copy other idiots in the gym I have learnt what works for me. That is the beauty of this sport, we are all unique.

Thanks Gerry T - 2 weeks out from comp day now - my strength has dropped a little - but that's to be expected.
