I am guessing the end results will have little variability in regards to this but I have read different articles over the years that suggest different things.

So what is the optimal time of day to complete a weight training session?

I remember reading an article by Poliquin that suggested that the time of day did not matter as much as training consistently at the same time everyday.

I am not asking this because of some OCD need to perfect every little part of my personal program. The only time I can fit my training in is first thing in the AM anyway. I am just curious what the research has proven to be optimal.

Thanks.

anytime you can get in a workout. I try to train in the non-peak hours.

I usually hit between 11-1pm as a start time... that works well for me. I have several meals in me, and I'm not tired like I would be at the end of the day. Also, the gym seems to be not as busy at that time... also, at my gym, there are a group of us who train at the same time and there is some good energy.

Perhaps look to things like this when trying to find a good time to train.
