My Pendlay Barbell 2010 shoes arrived today so I can finally stop wearing the loner pair of Oly Shoes at Coffee's. I opted for these since they were $119 with second day fed-x shipping and the Adidas I was looking at were going to set me back $200 and take forever to reach me.

These pendlays are made by Do-Win which is a company that has been making quality Oly Shoes for years.

Just wanted to share the news with everyone, and they came just in time for me to start my new wave of exercises.

Will do. I think it's outrageous to pay 200 bucks for a pair of adidas.

Its not about looking cool, its about winning. I would wear fucking clown shoes if I knew they would increase my overhead press 50lbs.

Pendlay shoes -- is that the same guy who invented Pendlay rows?

Not sure, but if its related to olympic lifting then probably.

Interesting. I always assumed Pendlay was a bodybuilder because that's what the exercise seemed most useful for. After a google search, I found out I was clearly wrong :dunno:

I def will let ya know if I give them a thumbs up or a thumbs down. I'll be breaking them in this week. It's my deload week so I'll really be able to test them in terms of how they feel.

Glenn Pendlay used to compete in Oly Lifting, PL, and in the Scottish Games which is Strongman. Now he is a sought after Oly Coach giving seminars and coaching some of today's top prodigies around the USA. If you're in the Oly World, you know who he is.

Truthfully, I don't know if they have a higher heel than a pair of Adidas. Adidas has a 1" heel and these seem to be about the same. Usually Oly Shoes run from .75" - 1.25" in terms of the heel.

You can add a heel to your shoe if you want. Alot of Oly lifters get additional height added to their heels when they first start out.

Did legs in them yesterday. It's a Deload week this week which makes this the perfect week to test the shoes out. So far I like them. There light, give good support and stability, and there snazzy to. lol

Pendlay makes ood equipment and thus far I'm pleased with the shoes. I'll be doing some C&J's today so we'll see how they feel for those.

What was your PWO nutrition like? That is the most important aspect....

That is very important but remember you're not talking to bodybuilders over here. I'm a strength athlete but my PWO shake is comprised of 2 cups of rolled oats ground up into a powder mixed with 3 scoops if IDS whey protein. Roughly, 105gr of Carbs, 72gr of Protein, and 10+gr of healthy fats.

Actually, in strength training it's our Pre-workout Nutrition that is most critical to our performance.

we need a strength nutrition thread....hehe

i found out the hard way eating is important before and during a comp.

That's actually a really good idea. The food requirements differ greatly from other individual's needs. Strength athletes cannot eat or train like a bber and vice versa.

I think that would help alot of people who are new to this as well as those who are looking for new ideas.

BrotherIron can get away without supplementing DURING the course of his workouts. His workouts are also far shorter than mine. I, on the other hand, would drop dead. In fact...personally, I place far more emphasis on my nutrition DURING training than any other time of day.
