View Full Version : Spicy 'N' Meaty Chili

This is a Mass-Building Meal
Ingredients:
2 medium onions, chopped
1 lb. extra-lean ground turkey or round steak
19-oz. can red kidney beans
14-oz. can diced tomatoes
19.5-oz. jar thick & chunky salsa
1 packet chili seasoning
2 cups sliced mushrooms
Nonstick cooking spray

Directions:
Coat a large skillet with cooking spray. Add onions & saute over medium heat for two minutes. Add ground meat & saute, breaking it into small pieces as it browns. Drain kidney beans, the add to skillet along with diced tomatoes, salsa, chili seasoning & sliced mushrooms. Simmer 10 minutes, stirring constantly.

Side Dish:For mass-gaining, accompany your chili with a plain baked potato.

Nutritional Facts: Serves 3, per serving
456 calories, 40g protein, 42g carbs, 14g fat, 16g fiber

You can cut with Chili too. I'd say that 90% of my weekday lunches for the past 4 months have been turkey chili. My recipe is much simpler than this (and probably not as tasty). I use about 2 lbs of ground turkey, 1 can of tomato sauce, 1 can of red kidney beans and one packet of McCormack's chili flavoring. It get's me about 5 servings at around 400-450 calories per serving.

Just brown the meat, intermittently draining the fat as you go. When brown, add the tomato sauce and chili flavoring mix. Add the beans and simmer 5 more minutes.
