Ok, I normally train after work from 500-615/620 pm but my fuckin job is now forcing me to work longer hours so I would have to train way later at night and where I live parking is a bitch so I was pondering whether I should train early in the morning and head to work from the gym

I was wondering what time do most of you guys train and for those who do train first thing in the morning ala 6Am-630 Am do you prefer it over evening training and how do you muster the energy to train really early in the morn?

I train around noon-1 o'clock. Place isn't too crowded and I don't have to worry about getting on a bench or machine.

see thats the one benefit if i go mad early is, im sure its empty as hell and i can do whatever i want without any disturbance.. other issue is i may run into my ex if i train in the morning ( awkward!)

I train from 445am until about 530am or so depending on what I am doing. I found by the time I get home, get the kids and wife fed, I am out of energy man.

It has been over a year now but the first week I was going to bed at like 730 or 8 at night until my body got used to it. Now I can stay up until 10 like a big boy! LMAO

I usually train about 8am - I drop my son off at school and then go to the gym. On the weekends, it's later - around 10am because I sleep in. :)

it will be hell changing your routine to early AM but after a couple of weeks you get used to it and it'll be fine. i did this for a while but am back to the 5-7pm time.

After work, about 4pm.

I was doing the before work thing, 5am, but at that hour i don`t put as much into my workouts.

Between 8pm and Midnight. I can never lift in the morning. The only thing I want to do is eat when I get up.

When I'm home at about 2pm. The gym is near empty, I have a meal an hour befor and a PWO meal at 3:30ish.

On dayshift at work. about 6:30 PM after work then PWO shake then about a 5km run then Last meal then sleep.

On Nightshift. about 3pm before work then PWO meal then cycle to work at 5pm then meal at 7PM

I have clients from 8am-1pm then I train and eat and start back with clients at 3:00 OR 3:30. mid day is great because though I feel tired imediately after training, as soon as I finish my post work out meal I get that good energy to get me through the evening.

If you're a morning person, train before work.

If you don't have a problem going to sleep at night, train after work.

Not much difference, as long as you are still getting the rest, your body doesn't give a shit what time the workout is.

I work from 2:30 in the afternoon to 10:30 at night, so I usually train around 11:30 in the morning. It's nice because most normal people are at work that time of day and the gym is pretty empty.

I train at 6 a.m.
Good side:
Lots of energy for the rest of the day!
Much more positive the rest of the day.
Seems I loose weight quicker.
Gym is usually pretty empty

Bad side:
-Much weaker than afternoon routines.
-It's really hard to get a good meal and a good workout (My good meal usually ends up on the floor as I refuse to have a bad workout) I can usually only handle a single scoop of protein
-Takes about 10 to 20 minutes to get the blood flowing and get a good solid pump.
-I tend to burn out quicker

If there is anyway you can train later, go for training later. Otherwise stock up on caffeine to get a good motivation for the morning.
