Who has ever used Ivanko powerlifting calibrated plates?

Only in a comp that I did. I think they are probably too expensive for most "normal gyms" to invest in.

Did you find them more difficult to lift? 'Heavier'?

I've used them and nope. There might be an issue of cheaper plates usually being so out that you lifting on calibrated plates meant you actually lifted what they said rather than a plate marked with 45lbs weighing anywhere from 42-47 pounds.

Thanks for the reply.Made this thread because i've read someone posting somewhere else that his lifts were lower on Ivanko plates and TPB compared to regular gym weights.

That's the exact setup i have and my lifts are clearly lower, so i was wondering if others felt the same.

nah. I pulled 600 at a meet with them, a bit lower than my best but right around where I thought I should be considering my recent training/strength at the time.

all gym plates are a bit different though for sure. Like Mobster said could be 42-47 or so. At my old gym we had a few we had to mark because they were a shade over 50! Your buddy may just have "lighter" plates at his gym.

You also have to consider outside things such as attitude and atmosphere etc. Sometimes at your "home gym", you are just more comfortable. Then at a meet, not so much, maybe a bit anxious, ate different, different time of day etc. All of a sudden your not in your typical "routine" and things can feel a bit "heavier".

Yeah, maybe the plates in my gym are the 'lighter' variety too. And i have the Ivankos in my home gym, not talking about meet or nervousness. Same mindset, the weights just feel much heavier. Strange.
