OK, a few may have heard I'm doing a photo shoot for NorCalBodz, (NCB) Nov 6-8ht. Mostly underwear swimwear and "artistic" shots. It's a modeling agency that specializes in men's physiques.

If you're wondering what "artistic" means.... nude. It's affiliated with an modeling agency that is building a portfolio with NCB of me. They think I'm marketable... OK everyone. Stop laughing ..... It's not a joke, it's true. I'll at least 17 years older then the next model they have and 30 years older then the average model they represent.

Anyway the NCB does a calendar and all the shots are "tasteful" in the sense that there is no dick shots, sorta. Some butt shots.

So, my wife says "NO WAY"! I say "WHY NOT?" They're not provocative shots. No man on man. Just some manly sexy shots. No real money, it's more for promoting yourself. Soooo... Whata do ya think?

Pretty soon you'll have a website up with a members only section, live webcam action, PFG.....and rolling in the dough. Once the old lady sees you makin' bones off your "artful" side, she'll shut up....

Talk to Derek Anthony ;)

Live web?!! Naaaa not this old fart! Too busy doin.. :eat:

NBC reps about 11 fitness mags too. They had a bachelor on "Bachelorette" show and the BBer on ""Big brother" reps him too. In fact he reps all the reality show. Just landed a gig for one of the guys on "The Foursome" on Playboy channel.

I don't want the money, yet I am a self admitted attention whore! :flash2:

It depends on what your primary job is and if it will have a negative impact on it at all.

^^ Primary consideration. After that, will your face be seen? Does that matter? Iif its 'artsy" can it be w/o your face? (e.g. back shots, head faced away, down , etc.)

Otherwise I think that's cool as shit. One of my fav pictures from the last like 7 shoots I did this summer is a black & white of my back, no face:

Ed,I would have to say no,this is evidently a conflict with your wife. If she were for it you would'nt be using a forum for a consensus would you?

I think it'd be great! But that's assuming the calendar and the people you're dealing with are reliable and trustworthy and don't take advantage of you. Your wife and career are definite factors. I've gotta say if the wife is really against it, don't do it. The rest of us don't count :)

If it were me (and course it is not me) I would say no. But Ed you are your own man, your decision will be solely yours and whatever comes out from it good or bad, only you will reap or regret the rewards/negatives.

The calender will not give me much money, yet can lead to $$$ as it is a popular one. Yet, the portfolio will land on about a dozen marketing desks for underwear the next week. Calvin Klein is his best client. They rep 11 fitness mags too.

Naaww. Shouldn't as the shots will be "tasteful"

Hey sweetheart! Small world for sure! How'd it go at Masters Nats? I got my ass handed to me this year. A number of reasons. Mostly by problem as most of our problems are self created after all! See you when you get back! Popps

Bro Baldie

I sent all the info to my coach and Tiffany Forni who do and have done a lot of stuff like this. They say it's very legit. I also, on my own research, all some of the most popular models and asked about the photographer. They all gave em 4 stars. Gary, the agent says all his models are straight. Not that they look for em, just has turned out that way. I looked at hundreds of shots is his portfolio and didn't see one 'man on man" shot.

There are a few, very few semi see through dick shots. That will not happen with me. I made that clear. Far as ass shots? Meh.. I don't really care. I've worked hard to turn my "white mans flat ass" into a halfway decent shelf back there, so I'm fucken proud of it!

My main thing is the calender tho. It is cheesy and more provocative then just the underwear modeling. So I don't know. Mrs Supe said it's ok if there are no see through semi stiff dick shots, OR ass shots. I say, I'm all but a naked butt anyway when I compete, so who cares who sees my ass?!

Well I'll just say this, the older I get the more I think "you only live once", and the older I get the less people I have to answer to, and the older I get the less I really give a rat's ass what anyone else thinks about me, so I say go for it for all those reasons.

As much as I'm in favor of entrepeneurship, I'd say maybe. But weigh the pros and cons, discuss them with your wife, and if the pros significantly outweigh the cons, and your both on the same page, then go for it. Otherwise, there wil be other opportunities

Nice! I feel this way more and more the older I get! But on the other hand... people can make your life miserable with the gossip. You never know, someone may say something about the shoot that it wasn't... just for instant attention. I think if you wouldn't mind letting your kids and family see it then why not? But, your wife must be on board. Hey maybe she can bring it to her workplace and show you off to her co-workers! She may like that!

I did pretty good for first time at the Masters, took 2nd lw 35-45 and 3rd in 45-55 yr cat. I saw you there but I wasn't quite sure that was you. You know we look so different when we lean out and have stain on.

I say yeah- as long as your wife says yes. Maybe if you were in your 20's you would be concerned about future job prospects, etc. so at this age ask yourself if you lose give up this opportunity will you look back 20 years from now and say- I should have just done it? No regrets.

10-09-2009, 06:44 PM
I'd say yes go for it. Except that you said your wife is against it. Maybe have a conversation about it with her find out specifically what she's not comfortable with and see if you can work it out together. But ultimately if you do it you could be living with a pretty picture of your butt as Mr September and an angry wife for a long time.

Well I flew to SAC CA for the shoot. We started right after we got to his studio about 10 PM till 12 AM. Next morning shot for a few more hours then quit. My abs were short of what we needed to continue the shoot and I will be back in April to do a Calvin Klein, Aussiebum, etc shoot.

I took to the camera well. It was easier then I thought. He is an amazing photographer and the shot he took are amazing. I came in about 7 % BF and for my body type I need to be 5% for a solid set of abs. It's ok tho. As soon as the shots are ready, I'll link them to Model Mayhem for you guys to look at.

When I got there he had me strip down and take a few test shots and said he wanted to sign me to a contract. I read it over, pretty basic. You couldn't have done any porn to be able to work for him so I was in the clear! LOL!

I'm gonna do a calendar for next year as well for sell. Lots of beach shots, some artistic and sportswear loosely, very loosely worn. Should be fun.

He really thinks I'm marketable! We'll see. I guess wrinkly browed, age spotted, white haired men are in vogue these days! LOL! I still think he's nuts, yet it's his business and I'm clueless.

I can not believe it, yet I have two photographers requesting rates and availability for shoots. This is just to weird! Looks like I'll be doing 3 shoots this April and get paid for it? Life is so unexpected!!
