BREAKING NEWS FROM WORLD FIGURE CHAMP JANET MARSICO
As I sit here my eyes swell up with tears having to write this, but it
seems the right thing to do. I want to explain to all my clients, fans and family
with the INBF/WNBF why I have to make this difficult decision.
I have had the most amazing memories as a competitor with the WNBF: Fifteen years as a WNBF Figure Pro – The longest-tenured figure pro ever! I was the very first ever WNBF Masters Figure Pro; and after 5
consecutive years of trying, I finally won The Big One – 2008 World Pro Figure
Title!!
Not to mention all the years of judging with the INBF (bodybuilding
only, of course) and in 2004, I proudly gained the title of "Official Figure
Stage Coach" for both the INBF and the WNBF. And my very own column with
Natural Bodybuilding and Fitness Magazine, "Figure First with Janet
Marsico" Wow, that was a mouthful!!
As some of you know, and many do not know, I have been
hospitalized several times over the past two years for reccurring health issues. Most recently was this past
June where I found myself in the ICU cardiac unit for a five-day stay.
There comes a time in a person's life where you must re-evalute and make some difficult decisions regarding your
future. These past few years on the WNBF stage have been the most
rewarding, challenging and happiest times of my life. I have been so
fortunate to have met the most amazing and wonderful people through our
organization and made many friends through my coaching and competition
days.
I have been advised, unfortunately that if I want to continue to maintain
and stay at a healthy, that I must take some time off from competing
to give my body some time to rest. So it is with great regret that I must hang up my
suit and heels for some much needed rest and recuperation. I hope you all
understand and wish me well as I make this tough decision.
I plan on continuing my coaching with the WNBF and INBF as that is one of
my most rewarding and fulfilling things for me to do. I will also
continue to pass on to all of you my knowledge of the stage and my years
of competing and coaching through my articles with Natural Bodybuilding
and Fiitness Magazine. I will be at as many shows as I can, running the
competitors' meetings for figure, best body and Ms. Fit Body for all of
you and I will always be available for any questions, comments or any help
any of you need.
I wish all of you the best of luck, to my friends, family, clients and
fans within the INBF, WNBF and Chelo Publishing,.... this is not a good
bye, but merely a well needed rest for your friend and fellow WNBF Pro
