It's kind of cool, this deal with the posing session the other night sort of rejuvenated me. I am doing really well on controlling the appetite now.
Today I have eaten 4 times and am only at the following macros (I had the rest of the cottage cheese for meal 4, another cup)
939 cals
19.6 f

figure 1 egg and 10 egg whites for meal 5
1 scoop of whey and 1/2 c cottage cheese and 1tbsp of pb in blender for meal 6
should be around 1500-1600 at the end
do this for 18 more days and see if I can get to 180

I don't know why, but my lower quads hurt in the front today...didn't do anything unusual in my leg workout yesterday...squats, lateral step ups, db squats (maybe that did it), and stationary bb lunges.

I agree with this. Unfortunately, I've always done pretty poorly in this regard!
Last summer, I posed to pipe organ music by Buxtehude. Let's just say that the overlap between fans of church organs and bodybuilding is pretty small. LOL.
If I hear Bad to the Bone ever again I will kill myself. At least 4 people used it at the last show I went to

The music and posing to it is so so secondary to winning. MANDANTORIES plus the initial line up wins the class. First win that THEN good music and good posing helps in the class winners pose down points in the night show. Again, a friend of ours was so wrapped up in his music and artsie fartsie posing in Pitt on the first night that he blew his mandantories and never got to do any posing on night 2.

Honestly does it really matter? You're already placed so who cares if it's pop music. Maybe I am wrong but I have heard several people say your free pose is for you not the judges or audience

Haven't done rack deads very much, and believe it or not, have never done good mornings at all, not even once!
It's pretty eerie seeing yourself doing stuff when you never have before. Hard to believe that's my back.
I can see that I need to lose that 20lbs though because the muscles show ok, but not great.

34 in ralph lauren were a little snug.
got 2 pair of Dillard house brand twill trousers at 34, a pair of Aigle loose fit 34 hiking type pants, and a pair of 34 khakis.
then I got 7 shirts, all Aigle brand...Dillard's is discontinuing carrying them so I got some good deals. Oh, yeah...all the shirts are mediums.
I also gathered a bunch of my pants up to get dry cleaned so I can go get them altered. the ones I wore today were falling off.

down and back circuit, 5 total
reverse flys
db upright rows
Arnold press
hammer laterals
db front raises
rested 1 minute between circuits
then I did 3 sets standing bb press with 60 second rest between. Max reps per set: 19 9 7
then on max rack superset 4 sets total of 10-12: wide upright rows and bb front raises
finished with abs:
leg raises with 15 lb db between feet: 4 sets 12-14
ab wheel: 20 16 15
doing 45 min of slow cardio now

See how little I know about lifting? Thought it was important to do full Rom. So my form was the bad one! Lol
Your form was good. Doing less than a full ROM is not necessarily bad form, just another technique to force hypertrophy by keeping the muscle under constant or longer periods of tension. Bad form is like rolling your back when doing deads, or leaning forward doing squats.
Think about doing a curl, when you get to the top, the weight is no longer pulling on the biceps. It gets a chance to rest before doing another rep. If you stop, for example at 80% of ROM, the biceps stay under tension for the entire rep.
That is not to say eliminate full ROM as I will employ sets to full contract and stretch a muscle or do it between sets.

I got that (not AIDS) from everyone last year. I was too skinny they said...but that's because my cheeks were sunken and veins were popping out of my arms like crazy. They were just jealous!

My big weaknesses are: not stick my butt out enough (you should have an arch in your back), and i tend to try to flex on the relaxed pose instead of just thinking wide! I also stick my shoulder blades out and lift my shoulders on the lat spread poses.
Marvin says I look 1-2lbs leaner than last week, and he can tell stuff like that.
Also told me I have great hamstrings.

Some things I got out of the posing lesson:
1. Marvin knows his stuff. It is so amazing how just a little movement or shift makes the muscle pop out better.
2. it's hard to hold chest up while sticking ass out. My lower back is sore as hell this morning from the ass sticking out movement.
3. I am getting better pretty quickly, seem to be picking it up pretty fast, which is a surprise considering how uncoordinated I am
4. This is fun.
Marvin said you have to diet spot on and practice posing EVERY day. If you don't, when you get on stage, you will be thinking "I wish I had not cheated and I wish I had practiced more." He said the judges can tell self doubt when they see it.

I could not do the classic most muscular very well (like Joe DeMarco's)....Marvin had me try this way, he said a certain classic bodybuilder used this form of it (I can't remember who it was...Baldie could probably say). Marvin says for now, this is a good look for me:

he said as I lean out, he may changes some poses a little, but he is pretty certain these are the proper forms for me.
He has me relaxing my hands on the front and rear relaxed pose because I tend to try to flex too much and roll my shoulders up and forward
I also tend to roll shoulders forward and stick out my shoulder blades on the lat spreads.
I am excited because he has already helped me tremendously in one lesson and a 10 min evaluation before that.
He taught me how to cheat a little on the side relaxed...forward shoulder back on the verge of being illegal, where your arm is almost but not quite, behind you (judge can call you out if it's too far back)...also the hidden arm is brought forward against your upper chest to push that pec forward, making your chest look thicker (again, not quite illegal, but close)
Heidi told me you do 60 seconds of your posing routine during prejudging, without music, and it is part of your score, just like the mandatories. I had no idea this was the case. I thought prejudging was just mandatories.

The one thing I can say is to pose, pose and then pose some more. Replace some of your cardio with posing if you need to.

Cortisol is doing that! Stress can kill you or cause the fat to stay on where you least want it.

Looking great Mike! I'd tweak a few of those poses, make them even better. But you have coaches so I'm sure its going to work if you go with their advices. Legs are looking really good! feeling pretty good, just disappointed in myself for not getting lean enough...I had 20 weeks and still didn't get down to where I need to....still 20 lbs too heavy!
But I learned a lot and have got a lot more confidence that I can do it now. I did manage to lose almost 30 lbs

Wed. no more that 24 oz. fluid, Thurs. 16 oz., Friday 8 oz. Stretch water out with sips only. Afterwards drown yourself in beer, whatever. Oh and be sure to do at least one cote of Jan Tana or similar. Mix 50/50 with lanolyn for head and face. Otherwise those stadium lights will wash you plain flat.
When you pick up Ed DO NOT let him in the car without his Cellucor sample bag....m5 Extreme and p6 Black would do for starters.

cooking lunch...we have a convection burner...sauteeing chicken breast in franks hot wing sauce, a 100g of sweet potato in microwave (how much is that anyway? lol), and 1 cup of green beans.

We are going to the Metro Fitness mentioned in the workout in columbus thread. FBG posted it up. It's close to the Convention Center where Ed is staying since I have to pick him up.
Might need a pick up too if there's room...talked to my friends they need the car to go shopping - My hotel is near the airport which I remember you saying yours is near...just let me know if it will work for you.

I have determined eating 2000 calories with low fat is a lot tougher.
I am hungry as hell after 4 meals.
last two meals will be
8 oz of white fish, lettuce with 1 tbsp of olive oil
8 egg whites.
not very filling!

Probably because your body became accustomed to using them as a fuel source in lieu of carbs that were missing on your keto diet.
but my carbs are no higher on this diet! lol
maybe a little, like 25 g or so

So your body doesn't have the fat to use as energy.

yeah, 50g less fat is a lot of calories.
carbs only up a little.
but it is a contest diet, so being hungry is to be embraced and cherished!

I am thinking I still feel sick ...just talked to my office manager - they stuck me with back to back surgeries tomorrow - so that 4 hours straight sitting in the operatory - I am going to go crazy
that doesn't sound too much fun to me.

Arms sounds good Ed, I usually do them on Fridays, and I won't be training on Friday, so doing them Saturday is perfect
1 day on the contest diet, and I am down to 186.4, 2.4 lbs in one day. LOL
the water came off quick!
Also took 2g of gaba last night, my first time taking it.
Slept very well, but still woke up twice to pee, and worst of all, had none of the vivid dreams people keep telling me that it causes. I am also groggy as hell, almost like I didn't sleep at all.
