I would love to get a career out in vegas when I am done with school I could really be living the dream then... Wouldnt have to worry about snow anymore or being cold, just getting big and cleaning water... Thats what I dream about lol

My brother lives outside of Vegas about 30 miles, Logandale. They love it. I like it except for summer. 110 plus heat is just to freakin HOT HOT HOT!!! Vegas sucks. Been going there on business for years about twice a year and it's just the same ol shit over and over again. The shows are great just so much fucking money! I usually find the free shows in one of the casino bars and park myself drinking diet.


not sure if I would like the heat...I hate Va Beach in the summer.

I would love to live in Tahoe or Flagstaff.

60 minutes on exercise bike...would not pick up my heart rate, I must be dead

10% bf by Christmas (about 190lbs)
4% by Arnold
Then cruise at 10% for a few weeks, cut again and do my first show, the Lenda Murray in Norfolk.
Reassess based on how I do and feel at that show but tentatively I want to then make the move to strongman, but stay under 200lbs forever.

I like it!! Sounds close to what I would like to do, but mine is on a longer time-line and I choose PL'ing instead of Strongman.

Sounds awesome!!! I'm curently downsizing my lifestyle--paying off debt and should be ready to live off 35-40k within the next 3 years. We'll see.

When are you opening the first one?

Still doing due diligence work which is a fancy name for doing spreadsheet to see if it will make money.

If I do it, first one will be in May after tax season...possibility that my son may run it after he graduates from UVA this May...also have a good friend here who has an interest. Now I need to figure out where to get 30k to put into it.

It will cost about 75 k up front, and I figure I need 30k of my own to get the bank to loan me the rest. There's the rub...I have one nickel to rub together. COuld cash in my Roth IRA, I guess.

Yeah, run the numbers 10 times before dipping into retirement......then run them again...scary shiz. I have nothing and I'm tired of it. Sounds cliche, but if I'd quit getting involved with irresponsible women, I'd be much better off. (I can't push all the blame on them though)

Actually the stores are too small now to carry a huge variety of items and tend toward fitness centered supplements, but they do want to get more generalized over time.

It's a small local chain that is just starting to franchise.

It doesn't have to be a huge variety. For example I use CEE, BCAA, Glutamine, beta-alanine powders to avoid the crap in pills and other mixes. Baldy may be onto a pea protein w/o sulfites.

Hey you all are not alone on the dream of getting into the 'industry'. I failed at Bodybuilding clothing in the 90s even with the OP Ocean Pacific guys on board. I am that 16 year old white kid in northern Canada dreaming that hockey will get him out of the village and to the city lights...I am that 18 year old black kid shooting baskets until midnight in Compton, Ca. dreaming that basketball will score him a big crib and some major bling.

If I make it to the Vegas suppliment show I will be in front of people like BioCell who patented Hyaluronic acid oral delivery. I can show them MRIs of my bone on bone knees and Docs reccomendation for knee replacements with a video of me leg pressing 800 pounds for reps. I should be their spokesman. (would need to get these teeth capped first). I will see others with a similar message. I am always workin to get out of the ghetto.

I think you should....with one caveat--give up the scale for 2 solid weeks. This starving yourself is making you obsess about the scale again, dawg.

Have you ever tried a simple 250P, 150C, 60F meal plan? Seems to me it would be easier on you and cardio would be your wild card.

normally would agree...time is short and obsessing is actually correct now! lol

32 lbs in 16 weeks, it is all about obsessing unfortunately.

The lesson learned is to never let myself get above 190-195 ever again.

Only reason I say give up the scale is that you really have very little options on variables to change--food is at the bare minimum--cardio is virtually maxed out.

I just thought taking a few weeks off from measuring would work nicely for you, but I guess we're all built differently and are driven by different motivators :dunno:

In theory you are right, in practice, if I don't weigh every day, I put weight on so fast I might as well give up...I have to be OCD on this shit or it doesn't work.

i hear tell of people doing upwards of 3 hours of cardio a day in contest prep...in fact, I believe i heard that out of Esplendido of all people...not sure if it was him, but it seems it was.

If you're following a keto diet plan, why aren't you doing a weekly cheat meal? According to Dave, that's part of the plan.

I did Dave's plan from Dave himself...the cheat meal destroyed my whole week's progress. I spent then entire next week just getting back to square again.

I was eating 2700 calories a day and doing 110minutes of cardio a day toward the end...and losing no weight. I would gain 4 lbs on the cheat meal, and then lose 3-4 the whole next week.

In all fairness, towards the end Dave told me to limit my carbs on cheat meal to less than 100g, and I gave up shortly thereafter...12 weeks in.

Exactly....I was doing the 25 year old heavy AAS user cheat meal.

I don't think 10,000, but probably 4,000-5,000 cals on cheat meal day.

Doesn't seem like a cheat meal unless you get to really cheat! :)

when he said limit carbs to 100g, I remember thinking WTF kind of cheat meal is that? I get to eat a baked potato as my cheat meal...lol

If anyone can talk me into doing one every week or two, give me a suggestion or two on what to eat, and convince me I won't gain weight from it...I am all ears.

***cough***bs***cough*** You see water fluctuations and freak out. In the past your weekly weekend cheats were pretty lousy and left you feeling bloated and fat for a week. Then you'd repeat. Seeing daily weight changes (water) just screws with your head. You're chained to that damn scale and keep forgetting how it lies to you. Giving up is just being weak-willed and falling off your diet. Saying your body just won't lose fat.

Do the required carb up. Plan the foods and keep it clean. Don't exceed the calorie limits. Do it right. Lord knows if you can't get your diet under control and be comfortable with it now, you're screwed as soon as you stop this diet plan.

You're like a drug addict. Your brain is fucking with you and trying to get you to go back to your old way of eating. It's trying to convince you that you were destined to be fat so why try. Why go through this pain? And you're listening again.

Some Saturdays, I would use a egg plant parm sub and some french fries. It would fill/satisfy me and not cause any problems for me weight wise. (Of course, I never would weigh myself on Sunday mornings).

Pretty much whatever I was craving during the week, I would use as my cheat meal on Saturday. The cheat meal would work wonders for me. By Monday of the following week, I would always feel leaner and more ripped. If you are doing keto, you have to throw in a cheat meal. You are doing yourself more harm then good by not having a weekly cheat meal.

I need to do it reasonably, like eat at Outback and get a sweet potato with my steak, maybe a slice or two of that yummy bread, and nothing more than that.

I used to listen to the hyped up claims of people on here that would talk about eating nonstop for 2 hours, ice cream, cookies, spaghetti, pizza, and then say they were down 10lbs 2 days later...

Not going to do that again... (see Pam, I do listen to you just don't like hearing the truth sometimes)

I was referring specifically to the carb up meal. Good carbs like sweet potato, oats, a banana... not alcohol, or hot dogs, or BBQ. Plan it out.

Don't waste your carb up on bread. You need to make the most of the carbs you eat by eating ones that will do something for you. Taste buds don't count.

I disagree, when it comes to a cheat meal on a keto diet. Taste buds do count. A cheat meal is simply a weekly meal added in to satisfy your cravings and stimulate your metabolism. If I'm not mistaken, and correct me if I'm wrong, the cheat meal also keeps your thyroid functioning properly while on a keto diet.

G...go by the mirror...leave the scale for what it is...your bodyweight will fluctuate during the day anyway...it is not a machine...just do your thing and try to weigh yourself a minimal amount...that stress...extra cortisol...will do you no good at all...keep at it...!

trying to do better T....I always weigh at the same time...right after getting up and going to the bathroom. It's a hard habit to break weighing every day...people who are chronic overweight folks like me just are so programmed to do it. I am going to do my best to stay off. Taping the waist at the navel is so much more telling.

Mike is an outliner here. He's been down this path before. his cheats tear him up psychologically. The resulting bloat and scale gain just kills him. He loses all confidence that he's losing fat. For others who know their bodies it's not such a big deal. I also disagree that nutrition isn't a consideration.

Hamburger and fries. To me that's a cheat meal for maintenance or bulking. All you're getting is bread and fried potatoes.

Google Leptin. Leptin lasts 2 weeks before it needs a re charge.

I think most would agree that Dave Palumbo is "the man" when it comes to the keto diet for contest prep. If I'm not mistaken, Dave has mentioned in the past that the burger and fries was one of his favorite cheat meals during contest prep. I was working with him, not just following his diet! I gave up after 12 weeks...I wasn't very successful at it. I couldn't take the cardio at 110 minutes a day....I was doing it all post workout because it was tax season, doing it in two sessions was not an option.

Mike - Hijacking your thread - your thread seems to get the most love and I work all day ...like a real person:) so I will leave my question to your care.

Gloves? Have always worn and will always wear them but these last few weeks even wearing gloves I am getting callous and doing the back workout tonight hurt by hands bad especially the area getting callouses.
I wear a thinner glove because my hands are tiny and gripping the bar was hard in the past with padded gloves.
I am a dental assistant and my hands hurting is not a good thing.
I need glove suggestions and if versa grips are a good option for the pull exercises?

Versa grips have a cult following, but I use straps, which I highly recommend...I got these (don't you love the flaming skulls)

For gloves, I don't use them, but my chiro does and believe it or not he uses a pair of wide receiver gloves that you can buy at the major sporting good stores...Nike I think is his brand. He says they are tough, but thin so you can still feel the bar.

Welcome to my life... Except with egg beaters I just drinkem, because you can, and regular eggs I cook but I am up too 36 whites a day on training days non 24 I also make a keish with throwing oats in with it but you dont eat that kinda stuff anymore...

Weights wont matter it weighs how much you want it too, you will be putting as much effort into deads at 225 as 405 just less reps, you will become that guy at the gym, your chiro will put you on his wall of important clients, GET IT G, ACHIEVE VICTORY!

The jury is still out on this plattitude in my mind. When I dropped my weight before, I was a slave to this way of thinking and led to many stall-outs. This time will be my testing ground on the ol' 'carbs are the enemy' way of thinking.

I seem to cheat a lot more when I try to eat a "reasonable' amount of carbs. For now I am better off not eating them at all.

I know it's some sort of psychological issue with me...or it could actually be serotonin, which I actually tested low on. Low serotonin can make you crave carbs big time.

I seem to cheat a lot more when I try to eat a "reasonable' amount of carbs. For now I am better off not eating them at all.

I know it's some sort of psychological issue with me...or it could actually be serotonin, which I actually tested low on. Low serotonin can make you crave carbs big time.


Interesting.....I think I have heard that about the seratonin.

Who knows, in 3 weeks, I may abandon the plan, but for now I'm subscribing to the K.I.S.S philosophy, lol. Calories in versus calories out, FTW

That's how it is, cals in versus cals out. Now if you want to manipulate water then carbs come into play.

Shaving will take hours the first time, maybe I can fit it in. I end up having to do it in shifts the first time because the trimmer batteries die and need recharging right in the middle.

Shaving and keeping yourself lanolized does present a better mind set. Dials you in just a tad tighter. Ya gotta keep after the forearms or the wife will really object if you rub against her with the 5 o'clock shadow. Have wife shave the back. The new flatter belly and a manstyle bikini porn shave will really make the ol stecker peck out. ;) (Are our girl members pulling up a comfortable chair as they read this??) Come to think of it....I need to shave down again. Geezerdom has got me looking like a Mountain Gorilla Silver Back.

Never once shaved the bikini area, so that's going to be frightening....

forearms and legs I did before and I did look pretty ripped...it's nice because you can see a lot more muscle when the view isn't blocked

here a couple of years back in my attempt at T-barring with a tricep rope...turned it into a shrug! I am shaven in this pic.

10 days out from a BB show I got an enigual hernia doing chins of all things. 48 hours later I'm on an IV drip naked under a sheet in the OR and half zoned from the 'just to relax you' drugs. Two nurses come in to prep me with a bowl, razor blades and towels. They pull back the sheet and are astonished that I am 'baby boy' freakin hairless..... "You trying to put us out of work *big boy?". The Doc was equally surprised that I had skin over muscle in the pubic/groin area. "This will be easy".

Went ot Cleveland in Sept and got hammered. 13 shots (12 tequila 1 Crown) while drinking beer. I'm not a professional drinker but I do play one on TV.

Bench dips with feet on another bench, 45lb plate on lap: 15 20 20 14 17

Oly bb curls, 135lbs: 5 5.5 4 5 4...felt awesome, cheated a little but who gives a shit?

Low pulley bar cable curls: 5 sets, weight doesn't matter on this crappy crossover we have

30 minutes of cardio at 132 bpm

was 204.2 this morning, might be an aberration since I ate 5 meals yesterday and 4 of them were whey shakes, not much solid food yesterday except egg whites and nuts.

If not an aberration, then I am really happy!

In the mirror at the Y with the bright fluorescent light shining down, I could almost see a hint of abs...definitely starting to get a line down the middle, at least a hint of one.

I'll be joining you Sunday :hypno: I think this week or 10 dayz of pre-dieting is gonna help me alot! I still weighed in at 200 this morn, so no biggie

thanks, Matt. I think the higher dose of fish oil (6 a day), and the fact I started taking MSM and COQ-10, are all helping that elbow...no pain at all today

you are going to be real successful on this cut...you are starting at a decent weight to begin with..

I have lost 10-11lbs and still need to lose 29. You only need 21...so kill it
