If a competitor qualified nationally before the rule was change from 2 years to 1 year, are they still qualified for 2 years? or does it also change to 1 year for them from the date of their contest

if they qualified in 2008 which was the last yr for a 2yr qualification then they have the rest of 2008 and all of 2009 to do a national show and place top 5 or they have to qualify again in 2010. this is what i was told...

no, you have all of the following year to do a national show. it covers the whole calendar year, the year after you won. at least that's my understanding of the rule book.

No. My last national show was 2007 & it qualified me again for nationals. I have until the end of this year to do a national show, or will have to requalify in 2010.

Kim is correct - she has 2 full years - through 2010 before she'd have to requalify.

2007 the rules were that if you qualified you get 2 yrs, they just changed it to 1yr qualifications this yr... unless you place top 5 in usa championship or nationals then you get 2yrs.. i placed top 5 at jr usa and am only qualified for 1 yr because of the rule change...

I won my class at a national qualifier in november of 2008, so where does that leave me? it was right before they changed the rule

i believe you get the year you qualified in and the following full calender year unless top 5 at USA or Nationals.

right - but you stated that you have all of whatever year you qualified and the year after. That's incorrect. You have all of the following 2 years to qualify if you made it in before the rule change.

So - if you qualified in 2008 - you have through Nationals of 2010 to do a National show without requalifying.
