You look decently good up there. I could help you with your posing, oddly enough, only because I've been the video man at 4 of Meriza DeGuzman's posing clinics... lol

Book it, Danno. I need all kinds of help. Especially dropping some more pounds.

You're just a doll. I've been depressed for two days. The judges and my trainer/partner said I need to be tighter. I think I do, too. I was 139 lbs that morning. I need to be 130-125 to be competitive.

Well, the ass looks good enough for bikini to do well... if you stand the right ways... in the poses, I've seen an average ass look fantastic. However, if you tightened it a little - it would look good when you are walking around on the stage too... but either way, I wouldnt' say you had a long way to go.

I think you got all the makings to become a great bikini competitor. I think it's just a matter of working out a few details but everything seems to be there. Good job and best of luck!

Here are some lineup pix...I just did master's. I didn't dare jump in the open. I wanna be 100% ready for that. Check out me next to the winner (Red suit). She looks like a snack. LOL....

you certainly have the poise and stage presence...only thing I'd change so far is a different suit cut from the back...maybe one of those with the puckered (or is it bunched?) v-taper in the back?

I thought this would be just fun. But this is still hard work for ol gals. I still have to diet extremely. Changing up the training will be a challenge as well. I will give it a go and see what happens on the National level.

you're hot and all, but why don't you do figure? Bikini class is a slap in the face for women that actually train and diet etc.....
^ serious question.
I find that the bikini class is cheapening the sport for the rest of us. But yes, it draws a crowd and money so I'm sure it's here to stay unfortunately.

Well, that's the muscle you've got that they don't. lol

125 for you would be tiny.

Carolyn Bryant
10-28-2009, 10:08 AM
You guys are sure helping my confidence big time. Yes, they have master's bikini at the Master's Nats that comes with pro qualification. They also approved IFBB Master's bikini at the promoter's discretion.

125 is REAL tiny for me. Got there once for the 07 Nats. Hadn't been that small since 1996. Before that elementary school. LOL.

I'm gonna eat nothing but veggies and protein shakes. Did that for the Jr. Nats one year. It worked pretty good. Didn't even have the shakes. Just veggies and a rice cake here or there.

Figure??? Yikes!!!! No thanks.

I have no clue what they are looking for in bikini either. I just hope they are looking for me. The big question now is what to do with the hair. LOL.

you look great carolyn! altho i thought you were bb too. as for the hair, i like the way you had it, i thought it suit you well. agree with GD on the suit back, a little scunchie goes a long way...and can easily be adjusted on your suit - looks like an easy change to me. and the color is awesome on you.

After this year, here in Kentucky, the NPC isn't going to allow suits with bling or suits that have a puckered backside for bikini. At least that is what the head judge said at a show that I worked this weekend.

i wonder if that will be all thru the NPC - and does "bling" mean extra stones on them, since so many off the rack suits have rhinestone components on them. and as far as the puckered backside, why wouldn't they allow that? i think it makes the bikinis more unique and sets them apart from figure. i guess we'll see if anything comes out of the meeting at nationals.....(stops sewing for the time being )

Did you have to purposely burn off muscle acquired from BB and PL? I don't I could do that. I like my teeny muscles way too much.

I am with you. I love the puckered backside on the bikini's. And bling meaning suits like the figure suits with a ton of rhinestones. But it could be just KY. Our NPC chairman here in KY and the head judge are married. Humph. So its whatever they like. And that is all I have to say about that. LOL!

Carolyn Bryant
10-29-2009, 10:33 AM
Wow. Our NPC chairman is married to a bikini pro but they don't always see eye to eye with the head judge for bikini. So it's whatever she likes. So I'm told. I heard there were over 30 crossovers for figure and bikini. There were several in my class.

I did not burn off any muscle. I'm just flat and not working out. If i was were to get back in the gym you'd see veins and shyt poppin out everywhere. Let's see how the photoshoot went the following day when I "carbed up." LOL...

Carolyn Bryant

Oh and, the transition from powerlifting to bodybuilding was due to injuries. I probably would have never switched had I not hurt my back. I can't lift heavy any more so there was some atrophy. I dropped about 10 pounds and competed as a MW.

I want to be smaller at 50. I don't want to carry that much muscle or fat mass and neither does my body. I actually feel wonderful after retiring the weights for a few months. I just don't want to turn into a weakling. So I'm struggling to find a training program that will preserve my strength and not cause my muscles to seperate for the bikini look.

I do miss pumping the iron. The gym is/was my solace. Like church everyday for 20 years. There is quite a bit of muscle maturity there so I do believe I have enough density to last me for quite a while.

Tragically I learned something about myself after suffering through injuries. I don't like lifting weights. I ONLY LIKE TO LIFT HEAVY WEIGHTS!!! I have since come to terms with my mortality. I don't feel the need to prove I can lift the building anymore. Every now and then I get an itch and I scratch it. Jumped under the bench bar this summer and eeked out 8 reps at 225. I had a hard-on for week after that. Like I was on some Cialis. Thank God I was able to walk out of the gym and didn't have to seek immediate medical treatment. LOL.

Competing this past weekend in bikini helped me come to terms with the fact that being a top national level bodybuilder is quite an accomplishment. The only time I had to requalify since 2001 was when I took a two-year break in 05. And if that ends up being my legacy I won't wollow in the mire. I shared this with Michelle Brent because I feel for her. It ain't over as long as there is a show to attend. We talked about meeting at the Master's Nats in our 60's.

Wow! I'm so impressed with your look! Going from powerlifting to bodybuilding and then now bikini. Maybe I can switch back to figure. You give me hope.

I agree with what everyone said about being a tad bit tighter and maybe posing the booty a little different (tilt booty up and stick out just a tad. Don't bend at waist), and adding the little pucker on the bottoms of suit. I tell you that pucker really does wonders to lift the butt in a sexy way.

Congrats to you!

I was told by our NPC Head Judge/IFBB Judge that they will no longer allow bikini girls to wear suits that are blinged out like figure suits starting next year. But he has not said anything about the "pucker" on suits. I'll need to check with him and I'll let you know what he says.

i can see here they would not want the total bling out, hopefully they will allow the pucker backed suit. tracy please report back what you find out!

carolyn - that is quite impressive. i think you look fabulous tho - bikini does suit you, you have a great personality and presence on stage from what i see in the pics. good luck to you!

That was a type-0 but it might take me till 2019 to get that skinny. LOL. Disaster only because I didn't place and I thought I could have. I wasn't quite ready but in some photos I think I look better heavier than at Nats where I was 5lbs lighter.

Long duration cardio, and high rep leg training
if that dont work ease off the leg training, till mass comes down to desired level.

Suga, I wish I could say I lost something other than body fat. I was just flat. I stopped lifting for four months. Did minimal cardio. I probably would have been smaller if I had dropped my protein. NOT!!!

The plan was to heal and feel better. Mission accomplished. I sleep better. No more back pain. I can wear small shirts. WOW.
