Doing great ...kinda ...I did start keto this week


I generally eat fish for a week, then chicken, then beef, back to fish........ ;)

I get in a tuna / tilapia rotation too often ...not big on red meat lately
I am making buffalo steaks tomorrow night


Meals today

meal 1 - 2 eggs 3/4 c. egg whites
meal 2 - 5 oz tuna / 18 almonds
meal 3 - 1 scoop whey / 18 almonds
meal 4 - 5oz tilapia / 18 almonds
meal 5 - 1 1/2 scoop whey / 4 tsp peanut butter

Exciting isn't it :D

It is a good diet for you, you have a lot of stuff going on as a single mom, and not having to think about what to make every meal is probably a relief. Plus it's easy to stick to it when you just follow the pattern!

Work was a little rough today and I got a meal behind - still early enough to catch up :)

Meal 1 - 2 eggs / 3/4 cup egg whites
meal 2 - 5 oz Tilapia w/ zesty lemon pepper ( way yummy ) 18 cocoa roast almonds
meal 3 - 5 oz Buffalo Steak brushed with olive oil and lemon pepper / 12 almonds

last 2 meals will be whey

I will use Friday and Sat. as my no fat / veggie days

Back / Bicep workout - also did 20 mins treadmill at level 10 incline after lifting ( lifting was a little on the weak side today :( )

Wide lat pulldowns, overhand x 4 sets
Narrow underhand lat pulldownss x 4 sets
Seated rows x 4 sets
DB Shrugs x 4 sets
Flat bar cable curls x 3 sets
Alternating db curls x 3 sets

it's working so stick with it!!! 2 days a week with veggies and no fat is not bad...it could be 5 days veggies and 2 days fat!

Yep that's me alright, I'm a sweet guy.

Actually my current internet situation sucks. Web-cam just won't work and even yahoo and email are patchy. Hopefully it'll be better once I get the satellite net hooked up.

Hope the internet deal gets better for you soon.

We would die without our web cam now that it has become part of our everyday routine.
The only time it's not on is when we are at work.
Some people might find it odd ...but it helps us feel connected during our time apart.

This is so true. We have talked about it before. Not so long ago we would have had to send letters through the mail.

Hell, not so long ago we would have never met. Same with you two I guess, we only met because of the internet. The way communication has progressed in the last 20 years is astounding. Talking to the other side of the planet, in real time, with video was the stuff of science fiction.

20 mins cardio intervals - why is cardio so damn boring - even at 4am and half asleep it bores me!

Made it through my 2 veggie days - weight did not move still at 135

I feel your pain, I ate 3 meals of the low carb meals and one cheat meal yesterday consisting of 1 piece of lasagna, one piece of garlic bread, and a salad with Italian dressing. So I ate 4 times instead of 6 and I gained 2 lbs. I am now down .6 lbs in one week.

It's a lot easier to be fat

Re- focusing my goals again...like I never do that :p

I am not really doing a cut since I want to stay around 130 - 135
so it's more of a lean bulk , which is what I started last Oct
So I am actually back where I started 9 months ago except I have put a little muscle on I think and I am a bit stronger.
The biggest change is that I am 100% happier and have 100 % support of my best friend and coach.

I will do shoulders tonight if my coach remembers to write my workout

winging it and staying at 18% bf is not working for me.:dunno:

Plus I am stagnant at how much I can lift, I would like to improve my big 3 lifts by at least 25% each

Tried to start the Max OT program tonight and it was shoulder night
I did great on the machine press and arnold press , but when I started the lateral raises I had trouble doing clean movements at a higher weight.
At that point a guy ( yes he was muscular ) decided that I needed assistance and advice on shoulder exercises.
Then after 20 mins of him showing me the correct form I am more confused then before.
So is perfect form with more reps truly better then lifting heavy with less then perfect movements:dunno:

I always work on good form. Not sloppy and not perfect but good. If your working in the 4-6 rep range if you can't get the 4 reps out with good form you need to lower the weight. If you can get the 6 with good form then up goes the weight. If form has to slip into the poor/sloppy catagory to get reps then I count that as failure.

I like the charles glass type lat raises to help promote good form. Start with the dumbells in front of your thighs, end to end palms in. then lift the weight lateraly, leading with your elbow untill the dumbells are at shoulder height palms down and dumbells tilted forward like your poring beer from a jug. then lower under control to start position. If you watch in the mirror you'll see the side delt your working popping out. when form starts to slip you won't see the buggers working

Thats a big difference between dumbells. being able to do 15 at one weight and not being able to push out 4 at the next weight up. (im not sure of dumbell incraments in lb. mine go up in 2kg increments so thats 4.4lb I guess).

What weight are the dumbells you can get 15 with?
Maybe try cable lat raises if that fits into the in between weight. Or pick up a pair of dumbell handles and put on plates to equal that in between weight. Or just use a plate held in each hand.

Are you doing the 15 standing? If so try doing them seated as it takes out any body english you may be using.

Thanks for the advice ...the cable increments are 10 lbs - I do cable lateral raises but going up is rough on those too.
I have only been able to work out with Mike a few times for him to help me. When we are able to work out regularly hopefully my progress will be better and by then I will have the use of a real gym.

It makes a huge difference having someone to train with when you hit that sticking point. Just the second pair of eyes can make a big difference.

I did a search and found vid of the seated charles glass type. Demonstrated and explained by the man himself. Give them a try.

Wonder if max OT cardio of 16-20 minutes means 16-20 minutes after you get your heart rate up, or 16-20 minutes total

I do it wrong too. I do max-ot (or did) and I always did the warmup and acclimations only on the first exercise. I never do acclimations on my other exercises. My warm ups are always 10 reps and my acclimation sets are always 4 reps. My idea..dunno why...just feels right. As long as there is some sort of progress I guess it all works in the end.

You only acclimate/warm up for the first exercise for that bodypart. Ie if your starting with bench press 3 sets of 10ish folowed by 1 acclimation set of 4 reps one aclimation set of 1 rep then working sets. next chest exercises needs only working sets. If you then switch to quads you do the process again for the first leg exercise

Holy heck yeah! My strength increased tremendously on it. Many of my current PRs are from doing max-ot. I'm hoping that means new muscle. I'll let you know in about a month or so as it starts to become visible.

Andrew is his own success story and is the reason I started lifting
he was a 130 lb meth addict as a teen.
He is now 165 lbs with stats very similar to Mike's he is 5' 8
all stats the same but he has a very slim waist of 33.
He is lifting regularly while he is doing his inhouse drug program and has become extremely lean and muscular. I think lifting will always be part of his life it made a positive change in him.

It's truly amazing how big a difference it made for Andrew to lift and start really caring about himself. I am jealous how a 165lb man can have the same size chest and arms as I do at 200, but I am proud of him for doing this, especially with a very limited amount of equipment!

It just makes me tired and spacey ( drunk like ) really fast ...I have wrote many gibberish emails shortly after taking it. I have heard of some people having the breathing deal and they just lessen the amount and work up to whole dose.

That machine leg press is mis marked or something...it only goes up to 250 I think, and it is hard as hell to push even 200 on it.

Does the sled move or the seat? At this express gym the seat moves. So the weight pushed also involves body weight. Still, I could do 5 plates on each side at the big gym. I was only at "130#" or so on the machine at the express gym.

The foot plate moves and uses a cable system - just know it's hard :hypno:

I started writing my journal like you Blu, with one line for each set. It makes me feel like I did so much more. LOL

Great workout and love to see others doing direct forearm work.

I am sticking to the max ot plan as close as I can

Plenty of cardio for 11 days then? I'm sure you'll get some heavy lifting in too. Or at least some high intensity work.

Great back workout. Still throws me for a sec when I see the numbers in pounds instead of kilos. My jaw almost hit the floor. Then I realised. Still a good workout though, looks like your realy pushing it.

It's been a crazy 10 ten days, this is the first time I have even slowed down enough to post.
Landed in Virginia, headed to Pittsburgh - which was amazing. I loved meeting everyone and seeing the female bodybuilders made me realize how much I really want to chase that muscle and how much I want Mike to have his chance on stage.
Spent a night in the Shenandoah Mountains on the way back to Virginia Beach- very beautiful area and we will be back there to do some hiking.

I am relocating to Virgina Beach in 5 weeks so life is moving in fast forward.
I have hit the gym a few times with Mike but training is taking a back seat for the next month then I can hit it hard at Brute Strength in Sept.

Hopefully we will get a workout in today, we are taking the kids to Busch Gardens tomorrow...then back to Vegas to pack !

Have fun at Busch! I haven't been to that one, but the one in Tampa is awesome! I love amusement parks because I'm still a big kid on the inside, so I just cut loose when I get to go!

I wish you both the same joy that I experienced with my Randee. :hugme: We had hers and ours kids who cemented our relationship. Unfortunatly never an ours. Our previous marriages were as it turned out practise for what with all the trials of life...perfect. We were two incomplete opposites who became whole when together. Lasted 44 years. I am so excited for you two.
