Yeah ...she hated it when I got smaller then her so she went on a diet - she is just naturally thin - never has to work out and eats like a guy.
I'd hate her ..but I love her to much:p

Thanksgiving Shoulder workout

Seated db press x 4 sets ( decided to do these Arnold press style )

Front db raise hammer grip x 4 sets

Hammer grip laterals x 4 sets ( don't hate these as much as I did :) )

Bentover reverse flyes x 4 sets

Face Pulls x 4 sets ( added these not on by list for today but had extra - so I used it - and I love these )


My sis in law - just texted to tell me she made me some " clean cookies "
from the Tosca Reno Clean Diet book I gave her ....

Had a great one ....went shopping at 4:30 this morning with about 1 million crazy people but did score some great deals and had a great time with my friend.
Went to breakfast after spending a bunch of Money

Egg veggie omelette / cottage cheese / 1 slice wheat toast

lots of coffee

Just returned from tanning - Training tonight is Arms

Friday Training - Biceps's and Triceps's

Bench Dips x 3 sets

Kickbacks x 3 sets

Tricep rope pulldowns x 3 sets

ez bar curls x 3 sets

Incline db curls x 3 sets

ez bar preacher curls x 3 sets

work went great - wasn't sure how I would do - I have been low on energy this week - still fighting a cold

Meal 1 - 3 eggs / 1 slice ezekiel bread ( breakfast in bed with the forums )

Leg day - will do it later in the day
worked out pretty late last night

I have learned some lessons about having a better Leg day

- do not do intense inclines the night before or morning of

- You have to eat enough on leg day

- you can not rush leg training - put the time in you need

I am a reformed cardio junkie - but I am turning myself around :yep:

Good stuff Blu. I have come to love leg day but I think the most important aspect that turned it around was when I stopped ego lifting and concentrated on form.

You are doing very good and the dedication is paying off.

Yesterday was a mess ...started great then didn't eat for most of the day. Did have a whey shake before and after last nights training

Off day today - almost did cardio this morning but resisted since my leg work out was a strong one and it was done pretty late last night.
I am learning my lessons:yep:

Sunday is catch up day for me ...do everything I put off this weekend
Laundry - prep food and meals for the week.

This is the week to shoot for 1800 and make a doctor's appointment. No more excuses! If you need meds, and I'm betting you do, it could take awhile for them to get you stable. How's your weight been over the last month? Any more improvements in hunger? I'd back down a bit on the protein and increase carbs. We've got to get your body acclimated to more carbs. Good ones of course :)

I think I am off Thursday day so if my work week is crazy again - we don't get breaks or a lunch break . I should be able to call and make an appt. on Thursday.

I weighed this morning and I am up 5 pounds ...so it seems to be a 1 lb a week deal. Hunger has improved ...actually feels odd to be hungry.

Alright. One pound a week isn't bad. Most will be water and I'm sure some is muscle. It should start to taper off. But we'd really like you to get on meds to take that piece out of the equation. Hunger is very, very good!!! Keep pushing the lifting workouts hard! See if you can't up the weights on a weekly basis.

Sundays meals - a little messed up - went to visit my son that is in a youthful offender drug program - we can not bring any food in and we are there 5 hours so I had to choose from vending machine food

meal 1- 3/4 carton eggs / 1/2 brown rice
meal 2 - vending machine grilled chicken sandwich
meal 3 chex mix / bag of peanuts
meal 4- eziekel bread / almond butter
meal 5- cottage cheese / brown rice
meal 6 - myofusion

Thanks ...I had a busy day at work but feel very focused today.

One of my patients today was a 61 yr old lady that started bb in hers forties - she didn't look a day over 45.
We saw her last year after I lost my weight - she came in today and when she saw me she said how much better I looked and that she could tell I started lifting. It really made me feel great.

guess what, my partner and I scared up the money using credit card miles, and we are coming in a couple of weeks for classes. we have to get 40 hours a year of education, and we have been coming to vegas for 4 years running now. We both enjoy roulette and sports betting. maybe you can meet me for some coffee or something.

Blu, have you had your LBM checked? I noticed you said earlier about gaining 6 lbs but if you are putting quality weight that's not a bad thing.

I have not ... Pam and Mike want me to have my thyroid levels checked again, so I am making an appointment for that.
I really think I was surviving for so long way under maintenance cals that my body doesn't like having much food.
I do feel the gain has been good - I feel stronger and look better but hate seeing the scale go up.

Don't get hung up on the # on the scale. It's deceiving! How you look and your clothes fitting is the real key!

That is the problem I look better with less cloths but my jeans feel tighter - but today I decided that wasn't really a bad thing...

Next week you'll keep your cals where they are now. That should steady you out and accommodate a messed up thyroid as well as continue to work on your metabolism. Just keep the diet steady in terms of carbs and water. No under cutting carbs or taking diuretics. You should be taking in about 170g protein, 52g fat, 25g fiber, and 138g of carbs (includes fiber cals).

Don't stress about the scale. Focus instead on gaining muscle, seeing good progression on the weights, and how much easier it will be to lean out the next go-around. I know how tough it is to ignore body fat. Its time will come soon enough. :D

My not so Happy Monday :(

I was very pissy today

Weather in Vegas sucks - cold and rainy

Didn't even come close to eating enough - felt crappy

Took 1 1/2 hours to get across town after work my daughter had to wait in the dark and the cold rain 45 mins ( one ray of sunshine, she didn't complain once and called my cell to tell me to take my time and
be careful :))

Came home to find my dog ate our leather ottoman

10pm just finished work out - still have to makes lunchs and eat again

Made an appointment - because of my work I can only go on Fridays and the holidays mess that up so they couldn't give me an appointment until after then
but said if I get any extra time off to call and see if they can work me in.
I have a new boss after 23 years of doing what I want - part of my stress - long hours at work and lack of time for meals other then really fast ones

New Doc is just young he will chill out.

The Dentist I go to is one of the nicest people I've ever met and his staff loves their job as they have a great schedule and wonderful working conditions. When I was younger, I was an asshole boss and to this day, I regret it with all my being. I think my problem was that I was trained to be an asshole--like it was the only way to get people motivated to work hard or something. Sad.

I just got lucky I guess...had to get burned to figure it out, but at least I learned it now! There's always something to be learned from the bad experiences. It just takes a while getting through the pain to figure out what it is. Luckily I had a good support group to help me through that.

one arm rows: 4 sets
bentover rows, use db's: 4 sets
bb shrugs: 4 sets
assisted pullups, regular: 10 total
assisted pullups, underhand close grip: 10 total ( I did extremely well at these which means I most likely wasn't using my back muscles and used my arms to much - still felt cool to do well )
pullup negs: 10 total
bar hangs: 3 sets to failure.

Not the best at resting ...I seem to think rest day from training means that I should do more cardio... working on getting more recovery time in.

I have slowed the weight gaining finally - went down a pound over the weekend and I am holding at 5 pounds gained since I started .

No that doesn't count. You only slept 5 hours then. You count sleep as the time you're actually asleep silly...laying in bed awake doesn't count!

Sleep is your best friend. Although I do sometimes wish I could get by on only 4 hours a night. I'd have so much more time to do activities.

Damn pale Irish dude, I wish I could tan easier.

I have been 9 times: 7 minute 5 times, 8 minutes 4 times, and am still pale.

If I go for more time I get burnt....no hurries I guess, I started way out.

Still have a Bicep/tri workout to get in
Having a 15 year girl to run around is keeping me busy
she had a high school play she was tech crew on tonight
now I have to drop her at a cast party and go back at 11 to get her.
I will get training in while she is gone ....I hope

Did have a pre workout whey shake

Eating at maintance scares me to be honest - I gain weight very easy.
So I let anything possible get in the way of eating - work -running around
I am not really hungry so if I dont plan my eating ...I dont eat.

Food totally crazy again ...went to an afternoon luncheon/party and we had a few shots of tequila to celebrate her finishing up Chemo treatment
did not plug into fitday
meal 1- oats/whey/pb
meal 2- pro bar on the way to party
meal 3- ate chicken salad I took off the croissant sandwich/handful nuts
2 shots tequila
meal 4- ezekiel bread /pb/banana/coffee
meal 5- whey/pb/blueberries

Leg workout - surprisingly one of the strongest leg days in a long time
felt great - not sure what was the secret

squats x 4 sets

bb sldl's x 4 sets

stationary db lunges x 4sets

leg extensions x 4 sets

leg curls x 4 sets

My friend has been amazing - worked the whole time only missing the day of chemo then back on Mondays

you can do calves if you'd like, I am biased against not doing them since I don't need to and never do myself. You have pretty good calves already

the inclines get them pretty well.

Back workout - normally Sunday is an off day but I have a crazy week with a girls shopping / dinner nite , Church Activities and a work Christmas party so it calls for creative planning for getting workouts in.

Bentover bb rows X 4 sets

Wide grip lat pulldowns X 4sets

One arm db row x 4 sets

Wide grip assisted pullups x 10 - then did 10 wide grip negs

Close grip underhand chins assisted x 10 - then 10 negs

Did not do deads since I moved the back training up from Tues and did SLDL yesterday when I did legs
