today's training did not happen at its usual 4am.. means hitting the meat market tonight... UGH..

got a massage last night, thought it would help me sleep... nope just the opposite...

chest/Back and cardio tonight.

This will be my 3rd time getting on a novice BB stage.. just local stuff but 3rd times a charm right?

Working with PJ and its still early in the game but he has been great.. came highly recommended!

Next 31 ish weeks should be interesting... lots of upcoming stuff in life... trips to Florida to cheer on a friend, trips back to Florida to house hunt.. move TO florida 2 wks after competition... got a call from college last night.. IF I bust ass in next 8 months, I could have my bachelors before I move... (didn't even embark on college till my 30's late bloomer) working full time, taking on a part time job...

dunno, maybe I'm crazier than I thought...

there are a few in my album.. getting big girl internet today (using blackberry as modem now and uploads are forever)

I am just not ready to post pics in posing suit yet... specially when I am 20 lbs above when that suit fit me... :)

If I can find a willing person I will video some workouts and post to YouTube.

Thank you.. I was kinda shocked at the PR's specially when it truly started out as an I don't feel like being here day...

the very first time I competed was a Nov show... all i wanted after was Cadbury Creme Eggs... well they only make them at Easter time... guy I was dating at the time, even called the company... no luck...

hey hey looking for manual labor here... and if all its gonna cost me is dinner... :D

mapquested Lakewood or was it lakeland?? anyhow.. bout same distance as Arnold just NOrth instead of center OH...

was considering going to Ottawa IL that weekend to watch a BB Show but I don't know anyone competing, so I'd much rather come to OH and watch you compete... as long as p/t job doesn't need me that weekend.. I am 95% sure I will be there...

It's Lakewood which is a suberb of Cleveland. It'd be awesome if you were there, but if duty calls, duty calls...or if the weather sucks which it could. It is Ohio after all. LOL We've got to catch up at the Arnold! I'm there on Saturday.

ok I know, totally know, this is abnormal... but i HATE peanut butter! there I said it, its out there... :eek:

when PJ first sent me the meal plan and PB was to be added to the shake.. I emailed him back that I don't like peanut butter... he said he thinks I might be the first female client he has had that didn't like peanut butter "most cheat with it" were his comments...

30 min of stairs... didn't realize my legs were feeling yesterdays workout until I got on the stairmaster, started feeling them then.. but still worked on skipping step and doing rear leg raises....

And while it does not come across in pics yet... I CAN see some definition in my legs when I am doing posing.. oh its faint believe me, but its there...

reality is this will be my last real winter but today was just one of those days I actually enjoyed the snow... my brother lives in the sticks of Wheatfield Indiana, and since I had not seen them since Thanksgiving, it was time to pay a visit...

NO lifting today, well least not till later, the nearest gym is about 30 minutes away, so I made sure I packed my running shoes and with newly fallen snow, and still gently falling, I headed out about 6am this morning for a 4.25mile run/walk.

Gawd it was so peaceful, just the sound of my breathing, my iPod in one ear, and hearing the snow crunch under my feet, no cars, no people, no traffic... one of those outtings where you can solve the worlds problems... least in your head :)

Add to that wonderful experience is the fact I have stuck to plan while here. My brothers is the one place that spells freedom for me, and being an emotional binge eater, sometimes my brothers place is a danger situation. there is always candy, cookies, etc around here - but my blinders are on, I have things to focus on, so for once while here I was not the least bit distracted....and I came prepared... only staying the one night but I had a cooler full of food with me just in case...

and while I don't get into all the bullshit hype of Valentine's Day... what I do miss is having someone to share today with... specially when I see the love between my brother and sister in law - happy for them, sad for me...

but it is what it is... I will visit my love later this afternoon, when I hit the gym and put the iron in my hands....

I am not a runner, really don't care for it to be honest but on days like today, when getting in cardio would be a hassle otherwise, it was perfect... just me, the snow, the quite and my thoughts....

Don't feel bad me & my boyfriend didn't exchange gifts either. Mostly because he just competed & is broke & I'm getting ready to compete & go to the arnold so we are saving what we can... but we have each other so I'm cool w/ that.

I shoot for 9pm, but it usually ends up being 10 or 11pm.... and the odd thing is 95% of the time, I am waking up before the alarm goes off.

I guess 4/4:30 am is early for some... I just want to be sure I give the best part of my day to me... and I HATE how crowded the gym is at night...

Ok I have to admit... yesterdays workout completely, and that should be capitalized, SUCKED. normal Sunday thing, drove to Libertyville to workout with Jen and she wanted to hit legs... guess in retrospect I should have just blew it off, but I was glad I at least did something...

Issues, issues, issues... usual chick stuff that NONE Of us talk about.... #1 period from hell has desended upon me, and like clock work of late, its happening about, oh, every two weeks? Ok if it means menopause is coming then bring it on.... I'm ready to be D O N E!!! not having babies lets get it over with.... Secondly.... all this protein is reeking havoc on my system and metamucil is NOT helping....it may take me to the end of my life but damn it I will find a DR that does not think not going to the potty for 5+ days is a normal woman thing.... MY ASS its normal (no pun intended) not when your weight shoots up 5 or so lbs in about that many days and you look like you are 5 months pregnant...

anyhow working legs yesterday I just could not push myself I was down and out miserable... but today, while things still don't seem to be 'moving' I was feeling SO much better and, well, legs were not sore, at all, so I did legs again today... ya ya I know not the smartest idea but...

Sorry you're feeling so awful! I'm not sure that 2x a month period thing is menopause though. Sounds like may be a possibility there if it isn't menopause. (here's hoping it is) Way to push through your leg workout though!

I truly hate to introduce this idea to you, but...how many GI issues do you have? I don't wish this on anyone, but it is awfully common. See if anything you're experiencing matches any of this information and be insistent with your doctor if it does. I think the trainer was a bit miffed with me today... I kept working ahead :) but my brain was dead by mid afternoon... so I started house hunting!!!

if this place is still available in April... I am going to go check it out... 5 BR's 3 full baths, community pool, lake view, 2800sq ft, built in 06.... $1500 a month, found another similar breakdown and fully furnished... $1900 a month - I mean come on... get 3 room mates, still have an extra room and I'd probably be paying with utilities, less than I'm paying NOW for a one BR apt!!! WTF....

pretty insightful for a 19 yr old who only knows me from coming in to the gym so early most days..

Stopping by to say hey and to see work being done. I got that guilt trip feeling on wednesday and hit the tread up for 45 some odd minutes till close. Felt great afterwards....

Ah to be 19 again and working at the local gym, some of the best hours spent cleaning equipment and mopping the floors....seriously though it was awesome.

Keep up the the work though, I always love the mirror for telling me how hard I have worked.

Been an interesting weekend, I guess....

Friday - well ex and I belong to same triathlon club and we remain friends, he would like more but it just wasn't working for me - anyhow - he had planned a goal setting party for our club, I was just going to go for an hour or so and call it a night - being the treasurer for the club I am kinda expected to show up at events... Well at 6:30 Kevin calls asks if I can come over a bit early he is not feeling well. Typical guy who never cleans out his fridge he must have ate something that God only knows how old it was and he was deathly ill, for his own party... So I ended up being the hostess while he is upstairs sicker than a dog... Meant a later night then I had planned because I stayed and cleaned up afterwards... I couldn't leave a mess, I know if it was me, the last thing I'd want to see after puking all night is a kitchen mess. Kinda had the other club members wondering if we had patched things up/gotten back together - mmm no sorry kids I am just being a friend and stepping in during a crisis.

Saturday - saw a new Dr.. and while she is a Chiro, not a medical dr... I don't think I have ever had a more complete examination and question answer type stuff. I am so much more for a holoistic approach to things. I will be doing some type of metobolic test... basically at 4 various times of the day I will collect saliva and urine, these will be sent to a lab where they will be analayzed for what I could possibly be deficient in that is causing the feet/calf cramping and the not being able to go potty issue..

She also did xrays on my spine and tummy... First I have a slight curve to the right in my spine going up and down... vertically your spine should be pretty much straight, mine is curved to the right. Now when looking at yourself sideways your spine should arch in a bit mine does not arch in normally I guess as well as being curved to the right....and it seems from the xray's all my blockage is in my large intestine on the left side... seems that is where things are getting backed up so to speak... no wonder when the pain is severe its on that left side. Could very well be an abnormal narrowing of the larger intestine as it heads back down to your... well you get the idea... that we won't really be able to tell from an xray, that... will take a colonoscopy to detect... OH YEAH!!!! please can I go NOW... NOT!!!!

We are first going to try some digestive enzymes. It is possible my body does not make sufficient enzymes to break down my foods properly and things just don't move along as they should. I left there feeling like finally someone listened to my concerns and didn't just brush it off as 'oh its a woman thing' So once I do the saliva/urine samples I will start on the enzymes and the high does magnesium for the cramping issues.

Saturday afternoon went rock climbing indoors. I can tell the bit of grip stuff I've been doing is helping, but I also realized I need to add pinch grip stuff to it all. There are times when climbing you have to use those finger tips to get a hold and pull yourself up.. now indoors you have placed holds, when your climbing outside you don't get that nice little option and sometimes all you have is a crack just big enough to wedge two fingers in so you better have some damn good pinch grip. Its such a great and fun workout.. and if I can figure out the video I will download what I have.. not sure any of it turned out well. AND I made it all the way up the rope ladder... basically this thing is a rope floor to ceiling, with single ladder like rungs that you have to grap between your legs, place your feet on the one below, then reach and pull yourself up to the next.. .sounds easier than it is, but its certainly an area where my upper body strength is at my advantage.

I don't think many women attempt it cause there was a group of guys just stopping to watch how far I made it... SMACK... I made it all the way... But the best was as I came down there was a group of young girls, anywhere from 7-13 waiting to try it and they were in awe, 'is it hard', 'how'd you do that' - if they took anything away I hope they took away the fact that just cause your a girl don't mean you can't climb like a diva!!!! course I had a hell of a time untying my rope knot my hands were spent by this point...

Had cheat meal at Outback... it was a pretty clean cheat... unsweetened ice tea, grilled salmon with extra snow peas, and I did eat some of the warm bread with butter! and it was soooo good... I even considered dessert, the chocolate Thunder down under... but the freakin' brownie had pecans in it... I like nuts but I hate them in cakes/cookies, etc - so I passed on dessert... the snow peas and bread/butter where sufficient...and well today's workout I will put in another post...

Today was Arms and after climbing yesterday well my arms were pretty tired.

By the time I was done it felt like my biceps and triceps were going to explode from underneath the skin :eek: it was kinda cool...

belaying is more nerve racking than climbing... I've learned to belay but I need to be certified to belay at Vertical Endevors...

climbing outdoors is the BEST though... such a different experience...have found a fantastic guide who does climbing at Devils Lake in Wisconsin...

Ok I’ve used a hack squat machine before but this was some funky piece of equipment from free motion and I had trouble getting the hang of it and figuring out the proper weight.
And I admit to being a slacker on calf work. I get awful cramping in the arch of my feet, so until I can work up the weight I will subsidize these with doing body weight calf raise while standing at the copier, or doing them while seated at my desk.. as well I’ve been doing step mill and taking many flights on my tippy toes.

I said yes and thanked him for the guilt trip... 'no problem he said, i knew you'd feel guilty later if you didn't do it now'

pretty insightful for a 19 yr old who only knows me from coming in to the gym so early most days..

Right now I have a membership at Xsport, one that allows me access at any Xsport, and I have a membership at Courts Plus in Elmhurst...

well you will probably kick my ass but we will have to set up something for meeting up at Golds in Gurnee one Saturday...I have a girlfriend that lives in the area so I could kill two birds with one stone... meet a new friend, get my ass kicked, then go pay a visit to an old friend...

I wish this gym had a 17.5 lb DB... not quite ready for a 20 specially when doing giant sets with no rest... guess next round of shoulders I will do 20 and drop to 15 when necessary till I build up to it completely...

Can do 35's on presses with spot but who the hell is in the gym on a Friday night.. NO ONE cept those w/o a life - course again when doing super setting probably not wise to go AS heavy but good gosh those 55's were heavy... not so much DOING the shrugs but trying to put them back on the rack....

Cardio was this morning 45 minutes on stepmill 3.33miles/160ish floors...

and while I really WANTED to do more cardio tonight... i didn't - thank you Rob... for convincing me to listen....

I did however sit in the steam sauna for a good 20 minutes...it felt pretty damn good too...

All I can say is that one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing over there. :( Received a PM asking to check an Rx'ers status on MD. Checked and there's no ban or t.o. notice on the user's profile. I PM'ed someone on MD to ask. They say that the recent posts were slamming Blechman and MD and so they assume the user is gone.

I relay that to the Rx'er and get a PM back saying that they can now access MD. Wtf?

The bans and time-outs are a disservice to the customers and regardless of the "free" status of boards/forums, we should be considered as customers. I subscribe to MD. I've shopped at MD's Cyber Store. They get my money or have gotten at least a small amount of my money and yet I got the boot without explanation.

That and a snide remark by Adman in the one thread saying he thought I was cool, but he was mistaken. Not those words, but that seemed the gist.

What's your take on the name changes to all things sexual? You tend bar and log on from home, right? But I log on during my lunch hour at the school. I have to worry that someone will look over my shoulder in the school library. Honestly, I'm no prude, but I can't have a child seeing a thread title named... well, you've seen examples.

Oh, and in the "Curt doesn't swear" department news or trivia: I was driving last night and some idiot was creeping across a lane to make a right on red. He moved from the middle lane to the right lane and was nose-to-curb rather than sliding into the lane at an angle. I felt like T-boning his dumb ass.

"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU FUCKING DOING, YOU FUCKING FUCK!!??!!"

And then he sat there for too many split seconds until he finally made the turn.

I'm a patient man in most circumstances, but if I'm behind the wheel? It's all Ludacris all the time. "MOVE! GET OUT THE WAY! GET OUT THE WAY! MOVE!!!!"

Hi MG, LOOKIN' GOOD!

I LOVE IT when my biceps get all pumped - but I usually only do one or "maybe" two exercises per bodypart.

Have you always done about 3 exercises per body part? If not, how does it differ from other ways you may have trained before?

Right now I am working with PJ Braun and following a training schedule he gave me for the next 4 weeks...

I'd have to say in general I've probably always done 2 or 3 exercises per body part..just depends on what rotation I'm following at the time and how much time I have when at the gym...
