The Yorton Cup - Bodybuilding, November 14th

Attended this show on Saturday and it was a blast. All competitors were in excellent condition. The IFPA allows props and that was pretty entertaining.

The one IFPA Men's Pro used his wife as his prop. She happened to be the Women's IFPA Pro champion that night. Unfortunately, no vid of that but there are a few I've included here.

IFPA Yorton Cup Pro World Championships
The IFPA Yorton Cup Pro World Bodybuilding & Figure Championships took place November 13th & 14th in the Washington, DC area. Over 70 top natural pro competitors competed for over $17,000 in cash prizes.

The woman on the far left at the beginning of the video is a grandmother! She has five children, according to the emcee. I didn't catch her name, though.

And the athlete second from the right (in the still image - before clicking play) was the Women's Pro winner (and her hubby's assistant/prop during his posing routine).

I have that wrong above.

EgtgiRtMEYc

Captioned the wrong video. This one is where the woman on the far left is a grandmother and mother of five. She was ripped and had a great structure. Really liked her physique. Believe the emcee announced her as being 45 years old.

You did that show last year, didn't you?

And I'm sure we'll meet at some point.

Chet Yorton is a legend in the sport.

One of the few competitors to ever beat Arnold Schwarzenegger. Yorton beat him in the tall class and for the overall at the 1966 NABBA Mr. Universe.

Neal,

It was a blast. I do love the sport and it was great to sit with a competitor and someone who has actually been on the same stage as many of those athletes.

It was a fantastic show! The one woman behind me commented that one of the bodybuilders had "back abs" - what most have heard referred to as a Christmas tree. I turned around and said I'd never heard that one and that I liked the comparison. She laughed, turned to her friends and said, "See?"

Back abs. heh :D

And thanks for your support and vote, MsGuns!

Why cant I see the videos?

Are you on your iPhone or BlackBerry? Vids don't show up on my BB. :(

Curt,

Thanks for posting the videos.

Hey, though your avatar shows your competition physique, I hope you don't mind the enlarged version from your profile being posted, Neal.

What Curt has forgotten about bodybuilding is more than what some will ever know.

I prepped a client for this show. His name is Jason Janov and placed 9th in the heavy weight class. He's only 23 so he has time to improve. Jason plans on doing the 2010 Team Universe next.

Wow...he looks better than a 9th place finish. I'm sure he'll make his mark in the upcoming shows.

Yea he's a pro. He turned pro through their amateur federation, the OCB, last year at the OCB Iron City Classic.
Thanks for the props.

Thanks. I think we could've had him in better condition, but I wasn't sure what to expect at this show. Here are a couple of pictures from last year. He's one of the hardest working clients I've ever had.
