While I am a fan of wearing nice-smelling soap, particularly the Bigelow brand my wife bought for me, there may be good reason for men to buy soap without fragrances.
Much has been written in the last some years about the dangers of undesired effects of phthalates in toys - particularly their feminizing effects on boys.
This Environmental Working Group article (http://www.ewg.org/node/21838) speaks to the association of high phthalate concentrations in men with increased waist circumference and insulin resistance. More direct effects to gonadal tissue are reported to have been seen in animals.
