I am assuming its in liquid form since that would be a lot of capsules to take. What brand do you recommend I take that isn't too pricey but still decent quality? Thanks.

You can take the 1g pills there are many good brands or Barleans makes a decent Fish Oil liquid that has 5g per teaspoon and tastes good.

Do you have a local Wal-mart?

If so, look for Webber naturals salmon oil softgels.

1gram (180 EPA/120 DHA), 180 softgels/bottle.

They are usually on sale, buy one get one free, at $10-$13

Take 2-3 with each meal, in divided doses

What is the benefit of 9 grams...?

9 grams is a decent dose. IMO most people should be taking in at least 12 grams/day.

These are around the doses that most studies have shown...

Reduced risk of cardiovascular disease
Improve brain function
Improve lipid profile and function
Increase anabolic hormone production
Improved insulin function
Improved carbohydrate utilization
Nutrient partitioning/directing carbohydrates towards glycogen storage
Increased neurotransmitters needed for improved mood
Increased neurotransmitters involved in fat loss/muscle retention

just to name a few.

Look forward to the discussion upcoming in the science section within the next week!

Thanks for all the replies. When looking for a fish oil capsule, is there anything specific I should look for to make sure the quality is ok?

I found some on trueprotein.com which seems like a good deal. 1000 x 1000mg capsules for $26.00.

Fish Oil Complex 1000mg Capsules

Fish Oil 1000mg (1g) capsule
EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) 180mg
