Lighting is very important too. Look at the befores with all the shadows and the soft glow of the afters.

Um I think they both look nicer in the before shots. In the after shots they just look fake and plastic. YUCK

Especialy the first blond lady. it's like they removed any character from her face and replaced it with plastic filler.

Agreed.....lighting makes a huge difference. But I also think that they are wearing ALOT of makeup as well.
Wait a minute.....the blond lady is honey blond in the first pic and in the after pic she is platinum blond? She has had a complete overhaul.

It saddens me a little to see how much pressure there is on women to look like starlets, while the majority of us guys get away with complete slobbery...yet these same guys will see a little cellulite and get allergic...

that said, and resuming topic, the makeover work is startling. But a little on the trashy side...i don't know, i guess i'd prefer a little less Liza Manelli/plastercine pornstar...and more Julie Christie!

I am blessed with a beautiful wife who does in fact look better without makeup on, in my opinion.

Nonetheless, this thread does call to mind a line I heard on TV a long time ago. After Will Smith's sitcom went off the air, the guy who played his geeky cousin Carlton had a role in a short-lived TV show with LL Cool J. They were discussing honesty of men towards women in their relationship, to which "Carlton" replied:

"Women wear make-up! That's not honest!"

The made-over bride is a case in point to this. Yikes.

Yeah big difference! But I agree with the girls-- lighting makes a huge difference-- Many plastic surgeons use bright lights in their after pics to make their patients appear younger and wash out the wrinkles

It so weird, they look like completely different women!

I would never date a woman who needed make up to look good.
What's the point? It's repulsive, and it annoys me to no end that women think they need change their looks.

Ps. Those pics are photoshopped.

This is bang on. The lighting in the afterpics would give you a fucking sunburn, which of course, makes the faces look blemish/wrinkle free.

Not to detract from the woman's skill as a make up artist, but these before and afters are the epitome of deception.

Amazing what hair and the right makeup can do for a woman's looks.Plus soft lighting, 15 hours of manipulation on Photoshop, and a small photo.

Wow, you gotta worry about checking their IDs, and apparently you have to somehow catch a peek with them not wearing makeup. Women are full of deception.

its not even the make up. its the crazy amount ot photoshopping and great lighting that makes those before and afters look so different.

lol - they're not photoshopped.

Alexis is Pamela Anderson's favorite makeup artist - and for good reason.

I think it's lighting more than anything. I would like to see the afters in the same setting as the befores.

I think that a guy should see his girl without makeup early on in the relationship. I mean, once you are intimate and spend the night together it is only natural that the guy will see you the next morning without any makeup on. No woman sleeps with makeup on, it's extremely bad for the skin.

Go to bed with a chick that looks so fucking hot, then wake up next to a chick that looks like a fucking guy with tits, now that would fucking suck.

It scary, you go to bed with a girl the way she looks in the second photo and wake up next to the way she looks in the first photo. That's false advertising.

I am sure the girl would cleanse her face first before going to bed. I know I would....there is no way I could sleep with makeup on.
Besides, just date someone who doesn't wear alot of makeup. I think those makeovers are done for special occasions....not for everyday wear!

It was just an off the cuff comment, it's not meant to be taken so seriously.

Oprah had an episode about women who never took their makeup off - they put it on to go to bed, then washed their faces in the morning and put it on for the day again. NEVER without makeup.

I feel like there are girls at my gym like that.

And just for argument's sake, look at how different some women look on the day of a show vs. on a regular, daily basis. Not only are we all drawn and tanned up, but we're also very made up and have our hair done. I've had many people meet me on the day of the show and then not recognize me right away when they meet me later on down the line (granted, I typically don't wear makeup and usually have a set of plump chipmunk cheeks by that time).

I agree with you. I don't wear a lot of makeup (a lot of times none). We do it for the stage and for photo shoots.

Deceptive is what it is. When i see a made up girl, I feel like I am being lied too.

Always beware of a shit load of makeup on a girl. lol I don't think any woman needs a ton of makeup for everyday wear. When I do see it, I think 'porn star'. lol

There are always exceptions - we do tend to glam it up when going out on the town.

That's just gross! The skin repairs itself while you sleep so imagine how bad that is for the skin!
Night time is when you apply your vitamin A and C creams....:) Not suffocate the skin while it's trying to repair!

I agree. Makeup should enhance the natural features. Not totally change them by wearing a shit load of makeup!

you know i personally dont see anything wrong with body enhancements and facial lifts. some folks look at most of us and think we have a problem with anti ageing drugs and having huge muscle. its all the same when you look at it. i personally would tell my wife when shes ready for it to go right ahead and do what she feels. you know when most of us retire and move towards just the love of our lives; its then when we see that some things have changed drastically and physically. and often no matter how physically great we look; your face will always be a dead give away. I say again their is nothing wrong with it as long as you pick the right surgeons and it makes you and your partner feel good.

note: just remember life for some of us was dealt to us very bad; and sometimes in order to erase the wrong that life has dealt us; these issues are what we seek to start feeling young and beautiful again. U.R

A professional makeup artist did my makeup for a photo shoot once and she applied so much makeup on me that it didn't look anything like me! Everybody, including myself thought that I looked better with much less makeup on. When the issue of the mag came out, I couldn't find my photos because I looked so different. Then I recognised my body and the green lingerie I was wearing and the green background!
