Trained here for 12 years. The place slowly went to crap. Bent bars, broken benches, plates are way off. Leg press was broken for 6 weeks one time. Pot smoking in the parking lot by members and employees started to get old after awhile. Hammer stuff is good and dumbells go up to 150's which is nice. Locker room is horrible and constantly flooded from the bad plumbing. Roof leaks and one time the parking lot flooded causing the gym to be shut down for 2 months. I have a longer drive now but a much better gym to train at.

Just wanted to retract my statement above. I'm back at World Gym. They had added a ton of new equipment and it is easily the best gym to train at within 20 miles.

Well, that is good to know! LOL I am originally from the Region and when I go home to visit I usually train at the Gold's Gym (now it is called something else) in Merriville, Indiana.

I use to be co owner of that Golds with Pete Kutsugeras, but that was a million years ago. Way back when it was named Merrillville Sport and Fitness. We parted ways and he went with the Golds contract and eventually built his own building. Great gym but it changed hands and now it recently closed. They had some building code issues and are suppose to move all the equipment to a warehouse close by under another fitness type name. There's an ex football player buying a lot of the gyms in the area now and calling them "Fuel Fitness". He has 6 of them now in the Region. World in Highland is still probably one of the best. Quads (south) in Calumet City is dying.
