What do you guys think of doing 6 week carb rotation to get back in swing of things for figure contest prep? Don't know if I am doing right numbers. I am 5"6' 125# off season, 118-120 show weight. Having hard time getting abs defined. thanks!

Abs showing is not just level of leanness but also genetics

example my sister and her friend neither are competitors. My sister had defined 6 pack all the time yet her friend also very lean just had flat stomach not ab definition

are you asking if you should diet before you actually diet?
if you are only 5-6 lbs form comp weight then you are probably already prety lean (nless you comp weight you were not lean enough)

no my stomach area holds all the weight and water. everything else lean. Right now just doing clean eating. Having a hard time finding the right combo to help with mid section.

you prob just won't have defined abs til show time

I am on a 2 days low and 1 day high carb rotation right now and have dieted down for my last 5 shows like this. Works well for me. I find I am able to hold onto a lot more size while still dropping weight at the rate I want. Just need to find which numbers work well for you.

That is what I am having problems with. What numbers should I be using? Can't seem to get that leveled.

ITS more able cals than ratios really. a good start is 12 x body weight for total cals. if you dont lose, then 10 x BW.

Is the two day high carb i day low carb a good roration? I was going to do start high then work down over 7 days while increasing protein.

i dont carb cycle now. but eat a fair amount of carbs right through my prep.

I go 2 low and 1 high. I following 1.5grams/lbs of bodyweight on high carb day and 1 gram/lbs of bodyweight on low carb days. If your not dropping bodyfat after 2 weeks of this then drop some carbs back on both days or increase your cardio more. I am only doing 4 days and half hour sessions. Not much but I am dropping weight actually too quick like this and force feeding myself. Weird how the body works.
