im sure this has been covered but i get a bit confused on it. right now im taking it about 3400 milligrams of fish oil. but i thought i read somewhere that u should take around 6000. but i also know that too much fishoil brings down inflamtion which i know is an important part of muscle gain. so what would be the best dose to go with?

as far as inflammation, there is good and bad inflammation so large doeses of fish oil wont have a negative effect on your gains.
I take in about 10-12g a day and I weigh about 205

so u think i should bump it up to around the 6000 range? im only like 170 right now. i just started training again after a long lay off.

IMO 3g is too little 6-10g is where you want to be.

ok thanks guys. should i just do 3 doses of 2000 or break it up even more and just have 1000 with each of my 6 meals?

I do 5g with breakfast and bed. No science behind that just seems to work for me

u dont think it would be better to have more even levels of omega 3s throughout the day

I've seen 1g/10lbs thrown around as a good dose for optimal health.

Going to really depend on the person, their macros, activity level and how they respond to certain things of the diet.

I do not think the amount of fish oil is as important as the amount of EPA/DHA per day. I will have to dig for it again but I think there was some rearch that suggested a minimun of 3g EPA/DHA per day. Most caps (1 gram) have 300mg of combined EPA/DHA per cap so I shoot for a minimum of 10 caps/day.

At that dosing you would bleed out if you get cut open. As omega-3 are very potent blood thinners. Get roughly 2-4g/day of EPA and DHA combined and your at what is considered to be within normal consumption for good health.

2-4g of glucosamine will greatly help your joints. Itll take a few weeks to get it into your system
