So you're saying curling is a sexy sport that requires physical strength, balance, acrobatic skill and ability to wear spandex and look great?

LOL ...

Well not to dump on curling - it was a big deal where I come from and the players describe it as a game of skill & finesse w/ the strategy of chess.

No. I'm not saying that Jill. I'm just pointing out that she is doing something different since she left the scene. While I love the traditional ball and stick sports, I would not mind learning curling if someone were to teach me. And I would definitely play to win snce i'm competitive. Oh, and I do play chess and billiards too. ;)

What did you think my motive was when I posted that info?

I'm just being sarcastic :) In fact, she does a good job of blowing the stereotype .. well whatever is the stereotype of curlers.

Dude, I grew up in N. Minnesota. One of the most active groups in the city was the curling club and their facility was huge and had been around since the 20s. I remember it back when the used mop-looking brooms instead of the little scrubbers they use now.

Last night on the local news they interviewed a group of people in a local curling club in the Bay Area and the people involved described it as "a game of chess" and it wasn't as easy as it looks.
