The biggest most consistent thing I noticed from bikini from about 20
shows I attended in 2009 was the standardization of the back pose,
with legs apart, pelvis dropped forward and a seductive look over the
shoulder while flashing the butterfly cut bikini bottom and some
glorious butts. Quite a few of these girls turned pro. Those with Team Bombshell were the most successful group. Of course they had the advantage of being a key part in the production of the dvd about what the judges are looking for (still has not been released)

With the suit change requirements that came out of the NPC Board of Governors discussion in November '09 it should be interesting to see how
the trend goes this year.

In 2010 there were numerous examples of competitors turning pro using not only the suit bottoms that are now illegal, but other strategies in their presentation that will likely prevail.

As one can see in the photo below the butterfly cut was becoming the norm that led other competitors to mimic the suit in an attempt to be competitive. Missy Coles below exhibits the extra wide stance with butterfly cut suit and dropped pelvis. Extra points possibly for expanded view of certain soft tissue areas.

IFBB Pro Bikini Trina Goosby Team Bombshell: Butterfly cut, dropped pelvis & swing as she had her own style having competed in figure and been a model for years prior to advanced bikini training with the team.

Prodigy Nathalia Moreira Team Bombshell: Butterfly cut, dropped pelvis & suggestive look over shoulder. Nathalia was so expert at hitting the posing and "the look" that after winning the overall bikini title in the NPC Ft. Lauderdale Cup also promoted by Team Bombshell owner Shannon Dey whose also the Florida Chairwoman of Fitness & Figure that she was awarded IFBB Pro Status as a representative of Brazil.
The suits, posing and placings don't occur by accident.
This strategy is so technical and Nathalia so advanced that it is very easy to neglect mentioning all her deployed skills that included the extra wide stance display of important soft tissue along with her "Butterfly cut, dropped pelvis & suggestive look over shoulder." We need a manual for
qualifying the importance of all the technical aspects of the winning strategy. Additional technical points may be achieved with pleasing presentation of breast tissue from back pose in addition to the points already achieved with deployment of 1)butterfly cut, 2)dropped pelvis & 3)suggestive
look over shoulder. Not certain, but Kira may also have gained bonus points for wide stance considering she is short class.

The letter that went out to the various NPC Chairs regarding the new rule requiring greater coverage across the glutes was not nearly sufficient to address the highly developed strategy of bikini team organizers sexing up the stage. These team organizers are the force driving the posing presentation of the women. As a result there have likely already been adjustments to the strategy for instance more reliance on the dropped pelvis coupled with wide stance and possible greater reliance on presenting where possible breast tissue as the competitor turns and looks adoringly back at the judges.

Those athletes looking for success would do well to monitor the strategies coming from Team Bombshell as they have the most accomplished track record of turning NPC competitors to IFBB Bikini Pros in the inaugural season. Although the butterfly cut may or may not be evenly enforced there are other key elements in presentation that can be gleaned from analyzing the whom have been most successful. There may be further adjustments after the 2010 season, but for now get in the game and use all the tools in the toolbox to win.

In Florida officials are indeed addressing the suit issue. Of course some of our training teams are sending a different message as seen in New York this last weekend:dunno:

And the beat goes on. Maybe 50% coverage, but for style and technique,...see above.
