i finally watched this movie this weekend. it was 1984, carla dunlap won the show and her purse alone was 40g. they were pulling the feminine card then with the likes of rachel and anja. the clothes hair and porno background music made it all wayy to tacky:)

I've always wanted to see this movie but never have. It's amazing to see the 40g prize $$ as far back as 84.

Good lord just like Supersize She. I have the dvd of this movie in my archives. Agreed about Rachel being too skinny in today's terms. She wwould just be bikini today. Glad to see Lori Bowen, Bev, Lydia Cheng and Carla Dunlap there.

Some other excellent work out here are Marika Johansson's dvd and Jennifer Abrams dvd. Highly recommended. Cory Everson also has a dvd but I forgot the name and don't fell like going through my DVDs. Tonya Knight's the Bicep Bombshell filmed in the UK was also very good. You might want to purchase them. I too eagerly await Debbie's dvd. oh, I almost forgot Vicky Nixon: Beyond the pain by Mike Pulcinella is another great work.

I was in on the making of the Jennifer Abrams dvd. The filmaker is one of my best friends. We were living together when he was doing the editing. I believe I have a credit in the end...technical advisor or something. Really I just helped choose where to edit a few scenes.

I also have Vicki Nixons. I'll have to look up Marikas.

You just reminded me of that awful background music and the theme song 'Future Sex'....I did my posing routine to that in my very first show.....omg...how embarassing......lol!!!!!!

Yeah it seems dated now, but I really liked it back in 1988 when I saw it for the first time...I felt they were being way too hard on Bev Francis. Its a crime that there hasn't been a special edition on DVD like the first PI.

Pumping Iron 2 was soooooo contrived. How the documentary makers happened upon the girls discussing the merit's of a more feminine physique while they all have a swim together...???

The sad thing is we still hear the same old BS about judging a softer look (what was that 20% or something a few years back?)The scene with Ben Weider instructing the judges just goes to show... NOTHING has changed :(
