I'm not a strong guy but I'm finally up to nearly 3 plates aside for about 5 reps.

Currently at 20% bodyfat sitting at 200 pounds, 5.8" & on gear.

Whats average for my size.

Well saying that you can nearly bench 3 plates for about 5 reps could be anything, that could be 275 for 4 reps, its incredibly vague, and if you looking for whats respectable for someone your size the real numbers would be a good start

I say almost* because I did it on a smith since I had no spotter.

That for me is insane! Dbol is my new best friend.

A guy your size on gear should easily be able to bench nearly 750 raw for about 12 reps.

Their is something wrong with those tables. They make Girlymuscle well into Advanced in everything and Me Intermediate or just making advanced. That can't be right.:hypno::p:hypno:

I never "felt" the bench. Every time I go heavy I get hurt. Most reading this will say he must have "bad" form. I would disagree. I am not convinced this is a great "chest" builder and I feel it is a high risk exercise. Trying to build a big chest? Try doing almost all pressing movements (bar, fly, dumbbell, machine) on in incline. Then only non incline movements use isolation movements like a peck deck/cable fly's.

Your doing good. I suggest keep the same weight till you get that sixth and then add weight. Remember it will be different with free weights so don't jump too quick. The rest of them are just messing with you and having a little fun. Don't let'em get you down.

My best was 4 plates for 3 to 4 reps, I was weighing about 220 then. After a few years off from serious lifting I am working my way back up to the heavy weights again, I can still do low three's for reps. I have just shed a lot of bodyfat and am trying build my strength levels back up.

i dont think there is an average... You lift what you can lift.. How does ur chest look? Under developed... lift more, Over developed? stay the same or reduce slightly and work on definition... :dunno:

Pointless question usually, since the form and ROM, or lack thereof, that is often used on the bench press, varies widely.

Only because you only have to move the weight half as far as a full sized human.:p
