Since I will be 40 in June and have been competing in powerlifting since 1987, I thought I would start my old man thread here at RX Muscle. I have been fortunate to have competed in Russia (Powerlifting), Canada(Strongman), Hawaii(Strongman), and it seems like all over the US.

I have been lurking here for a couple of months and thought it was time I started contributing.

Legs:
Squats: 145x10, 235x6, 325x5, 350x5, 415x1
Deads: 145x6, 235x5, 325x5, 350x5, 415x1
Leg Press: 280x10, 500x10, 680x10
Reverse-Hyper Ext: 95x3x12
Seated-Calf Raise: 45x3x16
Total Volume: 32,665

This will be a nice addition. Whats your thoughts on doing squats and deads in the same workout?

I feel since I do them in a PL contest, why not train them together? I have found that I am already warm from my squats, so I wait about 15 minutes and start my deads. I feel that I have to do fewer reps and when the weights get heavier I can take bigger jumps. I have been doing this from almost day one and it seems to have worked for me.

I usually train 3-4 days a week. This allows for adequate rest and recuperation. I seem to make my best gains by having the extra days.

I finally got off of my ass and got back in to the gym.

The really good news beside graduating was my final grades, 3 A's and a B in Trig. I ended up with an overall GPA of a 3.72 and I am very proud of myself.
