What is your favorite back exerise. I think bent over barbell rows and T-bar rows are the best.

Deadlifts, t bars and straight arm pushdowns.

Straight arms are so fucking under rated.

What do you guys pull?

Seated cable = stack + 45 (345)
Bent over DBs = 160 (That's the highest they go, but I can do 10-15)
Pull downs = Stack
Bent over rows = 315
T-bars = 7 plates
Deads = 405

Edit: all exercises are 6-8 reps.

Ive often wondered about this, bro. Doesnt really feel or seem any different from a one arm DB row. Wouldnt a sled pull be better? Or do you think maybe I was doing it wrong?

never got much from dumbbells
the cables help keep tension on the muscle

sleds ,unless you are just rowing it, work legs more

Yeah I meant rowing/pulling one arm with the sled. I kinda figured it worked the lats more....... Live and learn, bro, lol.

yeah rowing the sled would be good
heavy 2 handed sled rowing will destroy the lats

Back being my weak link (eh, it was behind me....i couldn't see it LOL), every workout I seem to switch 'favorites'. T-bars and Bent-over bar rows seem to always hit everything for me.

The cables definitely keep tension on the back. I also find that if you have a good mind/muscle connection, that exercise will leave your lats hella pumped.

Now that I think about it, I add one arm cable rows to my list.

Deadlifts, t bars and straight arm pushdowns.

Straight arms are so fucking under rated.
try them w/ a rope attachment (straight arms not deads)
or even better, try it w/ dumbbells...bend to 90 and start w/ your arms just hanging and try to recreate the movement.

Various pullups with good form. Meaning arching your back the whole time, fully stretched at the bottom, and bringing your sternum up tot he bar.

I like 1 arm DB rows if your gym goes heavy enough. I've stopped since my gym only goes to 120s, though.

I like the t-bar row at my gym. Gotta do it right, though or it's not very good. Go from fully stretched to arching back and fully flexing your lats like you would when you get the x-mas tree going preparing for a rear lat spread pose.

IMO back exercises are made good through knowing how to actually flex the muscles you're trying to work. Can you flex your lats just standing? Can you flex your lower traps? Middle traps? If not your back workouts aren't going to be great.
