I was just about to file away my notes on Lori's article and realized I had neglected to mention she was born in Bangkok, Thailand. Her first language was Thai. An 'Army brat', she lived there until she was 4 before the family moved to Virginia Beach. Her father is a retired Lieutenant Colonel. Interesting woman indeed!

http://www.rxmuscle.com/the-women/1459-theres-nothing-fishy-about-lori-steeles-national-victory.htmlWhile the majority of us were keeping tabs on the Jr. Nationals this past weekend in Chicago, mighty mite Lori Steele did what she claimed she would do in our article. She did some serious concentrating on powerlifting. The result was that she won her class at the USPF Nationals held in Rhode Island on Saturday. And she posted some impressive numbers.
Lifting in the 148-pound class, Steele totaled 1,041 pounds. That included a 391 squat, a 248 bench, and a 402 deadlift. She also squatted 402 on a fourth attempt which doesn't count on the total, but does count for record purposes. Her total of 1,041 (472.5K) is also a sub-masters record for her class.
In the article she also mentioned taking a fling at Olympic lifting. Although it's much different than powerlifting, odds are she will be competitive in her chosen weight class in a reasonably short amount of time.
Congrats Lori.

For some reason I'm having trouble accessing this article. When I click on the link provided It keeps telling me "404-Component not found." Same thing happened with your last article on LWs, Steve. What do I need to read this?? Am I missing a program??

Good question. I can't access it either. I'll send a note to Dave and inquire.Well, I tried it from the main RX Muscle site page on the line where it says 'Articles'. Click there and scroll down to 'bios and interviews' and click on 'read more' for the article you want and the story comes up right away. I don't know why it doesn't come up from the thread post.

Because they reorganized things here, and many urls have been changed.

Lori is good people, thanks for interviewing her. She recently competed at the USPF Nationals and set new submaster records.

LOL look at Dave Palumbo, trying to start trouble as usual... and then I get blamed for it :D

Had a great meet over the weekend. Here's my 402 deadlift. I know, I'm very cute when I deadlift :D
